Anyone else's period late - stress of lockdown?

My usually regular-as-clockwork cycle is now 5 days late for my period. I'm 35 and have 3 kids, and could NOT cope with another.
I've not had unprotected sex, and the sex I did have last (with condom) was only 7 days into my cycle so not near my usual fertile window.
I'm going to buy some tests today, but have no symptoms of either period or pregnancy.
The last 3 weeks have been incredibly stressful and I wonder if it's thrown my cycle out of whack? It's never happened to me before.
Anyone else all over the place?!

Yes! Mine is 10 days late it's driving me mad. Usually very regular. I don't feel stressed though

Leavesofautumn · 08/04/2020 10:44

Mine started a few days early. Things are all over the place right now.

BriefDisaster · 08/04/2020 10:49

Mine was a few days late the other week and I attributed it to stress because it is usually like clockwork.

TheGinSoakedBoy · 08/04/2020 10:51

Me too OP. I'm due today technically but I've had none of the signs I usually get. Im never late. It's got to be stress.

LolaColaMola · 08/04/2020 12:00

Also due today but no sign of period or pregnancy. There is a chance I could be pregnant (stupid mistake this month) and we both do want a 3rd child but this is shitty timing if I am now! Unlikely though as I had symptoms with the other two by the time my period was due, so think it's just late because of stress which is funny since when I'm on the implant/pill I usually come on a period when stressed!

wejammin · 09/04/2020 08:21

Finally arrived as I'm sitting on the toilet with the pregnancy test, of course!

Me! Took a pregnancy test this morning (four days late) and I'm definitely not, but I'm normally pretty regular. We would actually very much like a second but have decided we have to put it on hold during the pandemic, so I had slightly mixed feelings on seeing the definitely negative test.

Ah, of course! When we were TTCing for DS my period once started on the pregnancy test (as in, I wee-d on it and then realised there was blood on it) which felt like a total slap in the face from mother nature.

Yes stress is well known to have that effect op. Glad it’s turned up!

My cycle seems to be very sensitive to many things. Probably even the wind changing direction Hmm

GammaRays · 09/04/2020 08:36

Yes! Mine was 4 days late when usually it's like clockwork and I have felt much more stressed.

BippityBobbityBoo · 09/04/2020 08:37

Yes! One and half weeks late and usually so regular. Had kids very young and they’re all 20s now. I daren’t test, a pregnancy would be a disaster for us. Hoping it’s peri or something instead.

BippityBobbityBoo · 09/04/2020 08:38

Or CV stress of course

stickman12 · 09/04/2020 08:39

Omg me! 7 days late, took a pregnancy test although was certain I wasn't and that was negative. I don't feel stressed but maybe my uterus knows otherwise!

Blondiney · 09/04/2020 08:41

Yes, two days late. I'm peri and for the last year or so it's been a few days early.

BeyondMyWits · 09/04/2020 08:49

My body has decided that now is the time to scare me half to death with menopausal symptoms - so no period for 3 months now and waking up drenched thinking OMG I have a temperature (nope), hot flushes in the daytime thinking OMG temperature (nope), feeling fuzzy headed and out of sorts, dry skin (THAT really helps with all the handwashing too!) - woohooooo, heading to the menopause full pelt!

Had enough now, thank you... though with the panic buying of sanitary pads and loo roll it has been a bit of a relief. Small mercies.

MysweetAudrina · 09/04/2020 08:52

Ha I was going to post this exact thread today. I am also late and putting it down to coronavirus.

wejammin · 09/04/2020 09:53

Thinking about it a bit more, I wonder if the fact that I'm breastfeeding DC3 a lot more now I'm home all the time has anything to do with it too? He's 18 months and teething, we were down to just feeding to sleep (approx 50 times in the night Hmm) but he's clingy and drooly and signing for milk in the daytime, and of course I'm here alllll day!

I've had the opposite problem: mine was early and I'm now on day 12 Sad.
Mine usually only last 4 days.

BearSoFair · 09/04/2020 10:28

4 days late so far although even the slightest bit of stress seems to affect me so I'm not surprised! In the middle of a stress related IBS flare up too, it's all fun here...

cooperage · 09/04/2020 11:13

I haven't had one since the end of January, and I'm sure the disruption and stress of corona is to blame.

Narla2020 · 30/04/2020 19:04

I’m 5 days late (not pregnant) and that’s stressing me out even more. I didn’t feel that stressed but In hindsight I do think the whole lockdown/ coronavirus/ uncertainty is affecting me (all of us) more than I realise. Fingers crossed it’s just that and nothing more 🤞🏻🤞🏻 We’re ready to start TTC once this has blown over so I’m more on edge than usual about period/no periods haha.

babyinthacorner · 30/04/2020 19:15

Omg YES!!! 5 days late. I was shitting myself! And then I had another one 12 days later... joy of joys. My cycles are short anyway (21 days) but this is just taking the piss Sad
