My daughter vomited spaghetti hoops over a cream carpet in a holiday cottage last year. There was nothing in the cupboard but Jif kitchen cleaner (it was old, now Cif I think). It worked a treat and I got the deposit back.

If the stain is still fresh have you tried washing up liquid on it?

I once spilt a whole glass of red wine on my very light carpet and got it all out completely with Dr Beckmann carpet stain remover- amazing stuff! www.dr-beckmann.co.uk/product/carpet-stain-remover/

I got my snazzy new red lipstick out of my light beige carpet using a bowl of hot water, washing up liquid and white vinegar. Let it soak in a bit then gave it a right good scrub and there's not a mark left.

OK I will give it a go, rummaging through cleaning cupboard. I have bi carb and that elbow grease Mrs hinch swears by, washing up liquid so will try all those things. Just sprayed the vanish in it and it's lifted it a bit.

This HG stain spray has been removing a year old red wine stain from when I chucked my entire plate of spaghetti bolognese over myself and the cream carpet, then tried every other product I could find in the meantime. Honestly I'm slightly astonished.

White vinegar & warm water solution works amazing! Better than any cleaner I've bought.
Dog vomited on our light grey carpet last month.
Bleach didn't bring it out.
White vinegar treatment worked a treat.

Don't use hot water. Elbow grease should work well. Spray on and let sit for a few mins, rub in small circles and blot clean.

I once dropped a full bowl of tomato soup on cream carpet. I used washing machine liquid to get it out but washing up liquid is my usual go to for stains.

OK got a combo of white whine vinegar and bi carb on it will see how that works. Good to know Pol will add that to shopping gives me a bit of hope.
