This doesn’t look normal does it? Pic attached.

I posted about a week ago for advice. My stomach has seemed really bloated for the last few weeks. I have been on iron tablets so I stopped taking them a week ago to see if that was the culprit but my stomach is still like this.

I’m getting really worried about it. I do have a history of health anxiety and I have no idea if I’m completely blowing this out of proportion. Ordinarily, I would just visit the GP but DD is high risk at the moment and my DH is working away so I’m scared to take her (and her younger sister) along to any appointments.

I know bloatedness often reduces overnight but this is me now at 5am.

I’m just really worried 😟

You're not going to get answers here, just speculation which is not helpful.

GPs are still operating their normal services. Phone today, get booked in.

lowlandLucky · 06/04/2020 11:13

Iron tablets cause bloating and constipation

Freee · 06/04/2020 11:14

I have a food click and collect slot at the end of the week and I’ve ordered pregnancy tests so will be testing soon.

I have called the GP numerous times today and haven’t got through yet. Will keep trying.

@Freee I know you said you posted recently, however I remember another similar post from further back, so if it was you that time too it means it has been going on for far too long and really needs medical advice, not opinions from MN posters who are unable to examine you.

Freee · 06/04/2020 11:21

No, the first time I have posted was last week. This is a relatively new issue.

Freee · 06/04/2020 11:54

I’ve just ordered a test on amazon prime so it’ll come tomorrow. I’m absolutely petrified 😔

Sloff · 06/04/2020 12:17

Best to find out for sure, then you can decide what to do next.

Freee · 06/04/2020 12:41

The trouble is, I know I couldn’t terminate so if I am, I’d have to go through with it even though I’m traumatised by my other labours, I’ve struggled with my mental health and we are in a bit of debt. I really hope I’m not.

My partner's bloating turned our to be ovarian cancer, but she also had pain and nausea

BackseatCookers · 06/04/2020 13:36

I don't feel like I can say anything helpful but I'm thinking of you OP Thanks

Freee · 06/04/2020 14:48

Thank you @BackseatCookers

I’m pretty scared just now but hopefully I’ll get to the bottom of it all soon.

Definitely seek medical help if the PG tests are negative. Is your stomach normally quite flat before this started? You could send that photo to your GP now by email, although I expect they would want to examine you in person too.

MyDcAreMarvel · 06/04/2020 14:56

Glad you getting tests tomorrow, whatever the result you need to speak to your GP.

Freee · 06/04/2020 15:05

Yes, my stomach is normally pretty flat. I do have 2 kids but my stomach seemed to go back to reasonably flat afterwards. I have never seen my stomach like this other than being pregnant.

BackseatCookers · 06/04/2020 16:40

You'll be ok and MN army will be here for you if / when you need anything! Thanks

Cocobean30 · 06/04/2020 17:27

Keep contacting GP until you get through. No one on here can help you

Sloff · 06/04/2020 17:30

This is your third post.
It is much easier for posters to help if you keep to one thread. Posting multiple times will not change the situation for you, it will just cause confusion.

Are you pregnant yet?

Freee · 07/04/2020 12:33

Thanks for checking in. I’m still waiting for the test to arrive. I have made the decision to just deal with this on my own than seek support on here though. A couple of posters have really hurt my feelings. I’m not blaming them, I might just be over sensitive because I’m feeling scared and vulnerable but unfortunately, posting here has ultimately made me more upset and I can’t really deal with that just now.

There were many really helpful posters so thank you so much to them. It’s much appreciated.

Looks like my belly but I have endometriosis so any chance there is a medical reason?

aibutohavethisusername · 07/04/2020 13:14

Ignore the nasty posters and keep us updated.

JollyAndBright · 07/04/2020 13:36

@Sloff

Was there really any need to advanced search the OPs previous posts and link them?
She said in the first line of her OP that she had posted previously about it.

No wonder the OP is feeling attacked,
she said she had anxiety,
she’s clearly been worrying about this for a while and with the lockdown she probably is nervous about going to the gp/taking up an appointment/the risk of going to the surgery.

@Freee I’m sure your anxiety isn’t helping,
If I were in your position I would POTS, if that’s not negative, try the movicol for a day or two and see if it is just constipation (with the iron tables that was my very first though)
If it still hasn’t improved in a few days Payne ring your go surgery and see if you can talk to someone about your concerns.

But don’t let it stress you too much.

MrsEricBana · 07/04/2020 13:45

Hi Freee Please don't be hurt. So steps are 1. Pregnancy test 2. GP consultation somehow emailing them that first pic if it's not a video consultation. Don't wait. As others have said they'll see you if necessary. Hope you're all good soon 💐

Sloff · 07/04/2020 14:38

@JollyAndBright I said previously that I thought I remembered an older post which the op denied. I also remembered there had been advice offered. As there are now 3 threads on the same subject it seemed to make sense to have them linked so that people can see what has already been suggested in terms of advice and similar situations.

If you look at my comments on the various threads, I have actually offered advice, although not a lot as it is not something I have personally experienced. However I do feel that the op would be better off seeing a medical professional (as I already said somewhere) rather than stabbing in the dark on a forum. No malicious intent is involved I can assure you. It is clear that the op needs help for anxiety and whatever the swelling issue turns out to be, and while support is good on here, it won't help if there are various threads on the same issue which may be confusing. Medical help is clearly needed and I hope is found quickly.

Change in diet causing it maybe?
