Most bulbs are planted in autumn to flower in Spring, which might be why you are struggling to find much available. There are some summer flowering tubers you could still plant now - Dahlias and Gladioli are the ones I know of.

Bedding plants are usually planted out a bit later than now - after the risk of frost, which is usually in May, but could be June if you’re in the north. You could order some of these a bit later for your splash of summer colour. These plants are usually annuals so won’t come back next year.

I like Sarah Raven for planting ideas as well as to buy plants from. But you could also check out your local garden centres, as a few near me are doing deliveries in the current circumstances.
