Jimmy Carr is doing a little 5 minute quiz each day, we are loving it. My sons are 17 and 14. I think he has done 6 so far, questions are at 6pm answers are at 8pm. Obviously you could google but we don't.

A lot of the questions are really good.

YouTube.

PeterFoggsTractor · 05/04/2020 16:00

Crop some family photos and get them to name the person from their chin, foot or whatever. Change the picture to black and white to make it harder. You'd be surprised at how few people can even identify themselves!

kerkyra · 05/04/2020 16:01

What is a squirrels nest called?
A drey.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 05/04/2020 16:04

Thank you, found him!

Some great ideas that I can’t use this time but will definitely keep. This quiz is being done on zoom with several families so a bit tricky.

Alliterate Harry Potter characters.

It's my specialist subject Grin. There are hundreds. One point for each.

If you need a cheat sheet, this one is fairly complete. But if you're taking part in the quiz don't look until you're marking

scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/98752/harry-potter-characters-with-alliterative-names

FATEdestiny · 05/04/2020 16:22

Print out a map (could be your home town, a national map, continent or world map) and black out 20 place names. 1 point for each place identified.

TroysMammy · 05/04/2020 16:25

I'm using Jetpunk. Hundreds of quizzes with a timer. If you are doing it remotely then you all could do the same quiz and show each other the answers you got right in the time given.

You could compile a quiz of chocolate bars and sweet adverts, recent ones and old ones, eg

Which sweet was advertised with the tune There's a moose loose around the hoose? Maynards Wine Gums

Which chocolate bar was full of eastern promise? Turkish Delight

What's the sweet you can eat between meals without ruining your appetite? Milky Way (yeah right)

FATEdestiny · 05/04/2020 16:27

There are loads of these. Google minimalist cartoon characters for more.
