Made these!

I’m not the best cook in the world but I find baking therapeutic especially as I work in the NHS and think / talk about Covid 19 all day.

Thank you! I forgot to ask - what is everyone else doing or have done?

I made banana bread the other day, it was delicious. Grin

Sertchgi123 · 05/04/2020 08:25

They look lovely winter ❤️

winterinmadeira · 05/04/2020 08:28

Those look tasty!
We've played domino rally and just finished eating a fry up.

winterinmadeira · 05/04/2020 08:31

A fry up sounds heaven!

I'm planning some baking with the kids this morning, lemon sponge to have after our dinner this evening I think :)

Spied · 05/04/2020 08:37

Ooooo lovely.

I'm laying in bed. Day off. Need to do a shop for parents but firstly when I do get up, I'm going to take DS 10 for a walk around the park to get him off his bloody tablet and his on-line game! He's on one or both most of the time and it's driving me nuts.
( I know...I need to set the rules)
Maybe make some rainbow cookies with DD after lunch.

superram · 05/04/2020 08:39

Had to clean rotting food from my front garden as a bastard fox has managed to open my food bin. It also woke me up at 4am. Happy for suggestions to deter the little toe rag!

Livebythecoast · 05/04/2020 08:44

They look delicious OP 😋.
I know what you mean about taking your mind off things as I'm NHS too.
Thank you for all you're doing and enjoy your lovely creations Flowers.
Also for everyone still working in supermarkets, deliveries, teachers, everyone - thank you all Flowers

winterinmadeira · 05/04/2020 08:52

@Livebythecoast Thank you and I hope you are managing ok wherever you are. Let’s hope everyone stays at home today despite the sun. The next couple of weeks especially are going to be hard.

I did a guided meditation for gratitude and self love.

It was lovely.

GnomeDePlume · 05/04/2020 08:55

DH, DS and DD all set off for work at 4.45am (all working in supermarket home deliveries). DDog decided that 5am was quite enough lie in for me so I got up and made bread.

We now have 2 loaves ready for when they come home for lunch.

winterinmadeira · 05/04/2020 08:55

The bread sounds fab. I need a photo!

They looks delicious! I’m going to have a look through my recipes today to see what I could make.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 05/04/2020 08:58

I've been awake since 3am due to a nightmare... Completely non virus related (it was actually about school losing one of my children, not a distraction I recommend and thankfully only a nightmare and not related to reality).

I've distracted myself reading gory murder thrillers. Last night's was about a guy dressing as a wild animal to get his revenge...

HeidiHoNeighbour · 05/04/2020 08:58

@superram
A squirt or spray of cleaning fluid deters them.

A spray of flash/bleach on bin or a squirt of washing Up liquid on the food.

Works for me!

Livebythecoast · 05/04/2020 09:01

@winterinmadeira - thank you - yes, managing okay and just grateful to still be working despite the chaos and uncertainty around it all.
Agree, hope people stay safe and well - at home!

HeidiHoNeighbour · 05/04/2020 09:01

I made shortbread and oat biscuits this morning.
The other inmates of quarantine devoured them before I took a photo!

AreWeAnywhereNear · 05/04/2020 09:03

They look fab OP, you can't beat home baking, mine always look a bit dodgy but taste delicious.

I spent all day yesterday languishing on the sofa Blush

Today is a doing day, I'm on my third load of washing, cleaned the bathrooms and mopped half the floor. I've mopped myself into a comfy corner with chair & can't move until the floor is dry, I made sure I'd already placed a cup of tea and my tablet in said comfy corner Wink

dementedma · 05/04/2020 09:16

I did scones yesterday which were edible, for a change. Might do flapjacks today.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/04/2020 09:17

Got up at 1/4 to 6 (a leisurely lie-in for me - I'm an early riser) Grin

Cleaned the bathroom.

I made a pineapple upside-down cake, and a mixed pineapple and cherry cake (just to see how mixing the same ingredients in worked out.

I've cleared dog poo out of the garden (4 dogs - and I sweartogod I am the only one who picks up!

Fed the birds

Folded yesterday's washing now it's nice and dry.

Swept the spaniel "tumbleweed" off the living room floor (every single day there is enough shed hair to knit a new dog)

Had a cup of herbal tea, a cup of coffee and a cup of builder's (not immediately after each other, I hasten to add . . . )

Am now waiting for DH, who has just got up, to shift his lazy arse and take the dogs for the exercise hour so I can get on without them all under my feet. He will probably be fannyin about for another hour yet. I am gritting my teeth!

And washed my hands about 30 times.

winterinmadeira · 05/04/2020 09:23

Oh my goodness Schaden I feel tired reading that! You have been busy.

My lot are now circling the flapjack...I don’t think they will last long. Bless them, they will eat anything put in front of them 😁

It looks more than it is - bird feeding is pretty quick.
