Doing a spring clean and wondering if I could wash a double duvet in my 7KG machine. The duvet is polyester and 10 tog.

Depends if it fits. Try and see.

I have but it was a tight squeeze. I have also done a 4 tog (I think) summer weight king size but my 10 tog king size is too big.

Just washed a 7tog super king in 8kg machine. It was a squeeze but fine.

depends if it fits.
if it does use a lot less detergent than you would use for a normal load and add an extra rinse.

If it's too tight a fit it might not get very clean.

I really wouldn't.
I did this last week as DS dropped hot chocolate on his.

I broke the drum spring on the machine. Oops.
Luckily, managed to find a new one for £7 online next day delivery, so it's fixed but no one wants to make lockdown worse by handwashing all day

Thank you. I've just bought those coverless duvets from M&S and it says you can wash them in a normal machine.

I filled my bath & used my old standby - washing up liquid because it easier to rinse out - it worked pretty well (visions of me standing/stamping bare feet in bathtub a la wine making Grin) hung duvet outside & it smelt nice & clean afterwards (desperation duvet wouldn't fit in washing machine)
