Albums to introduce kids to...

We have Spotify. A few weeks ago, I started introducing the older kids (14, 11 and 9) to some of my favourite music but I'm stumped for new stuff so please can I ask for some iconic albums or lesser heard of to carry this on?
So far we have tried and liked:
Simon Webbe (they all were put to sleep to him as babies)
ELO - Mr Blue Sky is my favourite song.
Queen
Bowie
Elton John
Michael Jackson
Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack

We like songs you can jump around to, happy songs. Or songs that have a high singalong factor.

Thank you in advance!

Roxette - Joyride & Crash! Boom! Bang!

peekaboob · 04/04/2020 22:20

We had Prodigy today. Excellent results - all bouncing around to fire starter then I probably peed the neighbours off as during the bridge of Breathe I turned it right down then ramped it up when it kicked back in Grin Toddler DD loves Charly as she's obsessed with meows at the moment.
Might do Foo Fighters tomorrow.

How about Squeeze? Not my favourite band by a long shot but the songs always tell such a good story.

Graphista · 04/04/2020 23:33

As a huge George Michael fan and with you saying you want happy upbeat stuff I’d recommend Wham!

Madonna’s early stuff also very “pop” and upbeat.

Whitney Houston

Erasure

Communards

Pop absolute 80’s radio on - full of upbeat tunes in the daytime hours, they save slower more downbeat stuff for late night usually

How about some songs with special dances?

Good fun and exercise too

Agadoo
Superman
Saturday night
Cha cha slide
Macarena...

You get the idea

SellFridges · 04/04/2020 23:36

Tim Burgess (from the Charlatans) is doing listening parties on Twitter every night. They’re inspiring me to play a lot of albums to our two.

Agadoo

Geez, I've not heard this for over a decade!
