I'm 20 weeks pregnant and keep getting really bad anxiety about giving birth. I know its months off yet but I'm coming to the last month of my degree before I graduate and now that's nearly over and work isnt there to distract me It dawned on me.. wow..I'm pregnant kinda thing. It scares me every day and its causing me real stress. The thought of having something moving inside me freaks me out too. I think I'm just finding it difficult to adjust to. I feel some days like I wont be able to do it or something will go wrong. Anyone else feel like this ?

Aw bless you. Please don’t worry. Your body was made for giving birth. With my second child, my body took over and did everything itself. It was an amazing experience. I hope your experience will be too.

The only downside to my first birth was that she was a bit early so it was a shock, but otherwise everything went well and she was healthy.

See if you can find a local NCT group, you will be able to get guidance from them and they may be able to recommend someone you can talk to about it all.

Thank you for that. 🙂 It's my first child so I dont know what to expect really and it's very frightening.. I will look into the NCT group as I wouldn't mind having someone to talk to about it. Anything has to be better than constant anxiety I guess. Thank you again for responding.

I was petrified too, just couldn’t bear the thought of crowning/tearing. I actually had a mobile epidural and ventouse delivery and didn’t feel a thing. Contractions are pretty intense and a nice capable midwife will empower you and help get u in comfortable positions, also if you feel you can’t cope there are lots of drugs you can take.
Your body will know what to do. Xx

Oh and it is difficult to adjust to, but you will absolutely adore your baby so won’t mind. It’s a wonderful time.

Look at the positive birth company. I was terrified of giving birth and it made me feel so much better.
