Usually we have music on in the living room, but DH is currently working from home.
DD wants to listen to music, is only 8 and doesn't have a phone yet.

My 13 year old DD doesn't have a phone or tablet. She is an avid music listener, she listens via Spotify and Amazon Music on her Echo Shoe and Echo Dot (Alexa).

Ancient iPod and a little speaker! And he has a CD player in his room.

SimonJT · 02/04/2020 13:08

We have an Alexa, I have heard nothing but ‘I just got paid’ for about half an hour, Alexa is great...

Ciwirocks · 02/04/2020 13:08

Mine use the echo dot.

frogsbreath · 02/04/2020 13:10

My 8 year old has put the echo dot in his room so he can listen to minecraft songs.

My DH is working from home in the evenings and we just carry on as we normally would-he wears headphones with his own music on.

LER83 · 02/04/2020 13:12

Mine have got cd players, iPods and can listen to spotify through the google thing we have (Alexa equivalent).

MoonGeek · 02/04/2020 13:12

Jooki

SunshineAvenue · 02/04/2020 13:15

For those who listen via Alexa do you have to keep saying 'Alexa, play Dancing Queen by Abba' and then when the sing finishes make another request? That would drive me mad.

eddiemairswife · 02/04/2020 13:23

When did this obsession with having to listen to music constantly start?

preponderings · 02/04/2020 13:48

She doesn't have to listen to music. She wants to. She is very sociable and is finding lockdown, when she can't talk to her friends at school and instead has to sit quietly in her room for the majority of the day, hard. She also loves music and usually we have her requested music playing through the speakers in the living room.

@SunshineAvenue It depends, you can ask ‘her’ to play albums, playlists etc. We’ve got the aladdin soundtrack on at the moment so no need to request individual songs.

TheLongDarkBreakfastTime · 02/04/2020 13:52

CD player in her room

NotOneToShoutOut · 02/04/2020 13:57

Old phone with no sim.

frogsbreath · 02/04/2020 14:06

SunshineAvenue

Yes you do if you just request one song, you can request to play a genre of music, music by an artist, pre made playlists or make your own playlists.

I just say "Alexa, play music by The Killers" or "Alexa, play mindfulness music" for example.

Bubblysqueak · 02/04/2020 14:09

Both our DC (8&6) have their own echo dot for music, games and stories.

PertEllaTitsahoy · 02/04/2020 14:25

We've had "You're Welcome" from Moana on repeat all day 🤦‍♀️
