Anyone had a successful pregnancy after 4 miscarriages?

Hello. I’ve been going through IVF the past two years. I’ve had a missed miscarriage, chemical pregnancy and currently have the loss of twins (separate sacs). We can obviously get pregnant but don’t know it only seems to go to a maximum of 8 weeks. I just wondered if anyone else has had a baby after having this many or more miscarriages before? Thank you

Well I'm currently 18 weeks after 4 miscarriages so provided nothing bad happens, me!

All mine were IVF; first m/c was a MMC @ 10 wks. Then blighted ovum @ 7 wks, CP, and another blighted ovum. This pregnancy is from our 8th cycle (including FETs).

DragonNight congratulations! That’s great news! We are going to have to try naturally again, which didn’t happen initially but hey you never know!

Hi op
Sorry to hear your losses.

After I had my eldest daughter I suffered 2 missed miscarriages. 6 years later I had my youngest.
My eldest is now 11 and my youngest is 5. Me and my husband have been trying again for another baby but we are not having any luck. Within the 4 years of trying I haven't had any pregnancies. Unfortunately after seeing gynaecologist I am not entitled to IVF treatment in nhs unless I go privately. I hope I have a miracle soon.

Thank you for your stories, fingers crossed we get our miracle baby Smile

My mother. I’m the result!

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 02/04/2020 04:50

My only sibling, a sister, is 16 years older than me.

Lynda07 · 02/04/2020 05:04

After two.

Lynda07 · 02/04/2020 05:05

jadey0891 - well done for having two lovely children! You're to be congratulated.

Dozer · 02/04/2020 05:06

I did! Had help from St Mary’s mc clinic in London.

That’s v sad, v sorry for all you’ve been through.

Recommend Prof Lesley Regan’s book on mc.

TorchesTorches · 02/04/2020 05:08

Like moose above, my mother in having me! Including one ectopic pregnancy, after that she was told it was a 1 in a million chance she would have another baby. Them I was born!

Patienceisvirtuous · 02/04/2020 05:14

Me:

Early mc
Mc at 9 weeks
Mmc
DC1
Early mc
Mc at 10 weeks.

I’m 42 now so I think maybe my DS will be my only DC. That’s okay, I adore him, but would have liked to have given him a sibling.

Keep on keeping on OP, if you can fall pregnant it’s very likely you’ll get there. Get some tests though, in case you need steroids or aspirin/blood thinners to see the pregnancy through.

Best of luck x

I had a successful pregnancy after 5 m/cs. Had another 4 m/c but also another 3 children.

All the best OP

I've had 3 miscarriages and probably 5-6 chemicals where I was positive but within a week or so got my period. I have had two children along that pathway though - keep positive.
Distraction worked for me (first child we said we'd have a great Christmas partying and try again in the new year after three failed attempts- fell pregnant at Christmas, second if just got a new, super busy job - distracted and my DS was conceived) also success after using agnus castus , bit of weight loss and got a bit more active - mild changes, nothing extreme, not sure if it's what worked but it was positive changes. Everyone is different tho - good luck and sorry for your losses

Hey I am sorry for your losses. I’m the parent do a ten week old after a five year fertility journey. A friend had many losses to conceive her two - she saw regain too- but what worked in the end was a low sugar diet - Kingston hospital recommended a protocol like the blood sugar diet without the calorie restriction. There is a link between sugary carbs and miscarriage and diet is a controllable, so worth a thought? Protein and veggies only in the morning

BalloonSlayer · 02/04/2020 07:22

Not four but three, so don't really qualify but thought you might find my story encouraging.

Felt as if I struggled to conceive when I started TTC, as in it took up to a year (which I now know isn't very long really, but it felt a long time).

I had m/c at 7 weeks aged 28.
Had mmc aged 33
Had m/c at 7 weeks aged 34
Got pregnant straight after m/c, had DC1 aged 34.
Had DC2 17.5 months later.

That was me done...
Had unplanned pregnancy and had DC3 5 years later, aged 43.

Alexali1 · 02/04/2020 08:27

Thanks so much everyone for your encouraging words. Although I’m slim I do think I need to cut down on the sugary carbs and will improve my diet, anything is worth a try!

I had 4 early miscarriages over the space of about 3 years. Then had surgery on an abnormality of my uterus. Got pregnant the first month trying after the op and had DD. I'm now 30 weeks pregnant. Only took 2 months TTC this time. Mine was quite a specific issue.

It is such an emotional rollercoaster and I'm so sorry for your losses.
