DH and I are looking to spruce up the garden a bit and make the most of self isolation. Is anywhere delivering plants at the moment (perennials if pos)?

They aren’t at risk of a fine. There is no rule that items delivered (or purchased in person) must be essential - as has been clarified over the Easter egg row.

janj2301 · 01/04/2020 20:28

B&q essential goods only NOT garden stuff. Morrison's have plants and possibly Homebase and b&M

Duchessofblandings · 01/04/2020 20:29

Local: the centre near us doesn’t usually deliver, but they are now for a reasonable charge.

Supermarkets seem to still have a small range in.

BIWI · 01/04/2020 21:50

@janj2301 you can buy plants from B&Q online

LavenderQuartz · 01/04/2020 21:55

BIWI · 01/04/2020 21:59

diy.com - the link I posted above!

I0NA · 01/04/2020 21:59

I tried B&Q BIWI and they said not available for click and collect

BIWI · 01/04/2020 22:01

Are they not delivering then? (Sorry if I got the wrong end of the stick)

GuyFawkesDay · 01/04/2020 22:06

Our local nursery is delivering. You ring and pay over phone and then they deliver and drop on your drive.

Worth ringing around

I0NA · 01/04/2020 22:06

When I clicked on anything in the Outdoor Plants section I got “ not available “ for home delivery and click and collect. 😥😭

LavenderQuartz · 01/04/2020 22:07

LBOCS2 · 01/04/2020 22:09

Thompson & Morgan have reopened to new orders this evening.

I0NA · 01/04/2020 22:10

Do you have secret inside knowledge @LavenderQuartz?

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 01/04/2020 22:10

J.Parkers is a good online supplier, they had to shut down the website last week due to demand (cos we're all buying plants online ATM) but they've reopened it now.

ArlenesWoodBurningStove · 01/04/2020 22:10

The Secret Gardening Club is great.

AyeRobot · 01/04/2020 22:13

See if there's something local like www.horticap.org (based in Harrogate) and give them a call to see if they can do a non contact delivery?

EvilPea · 01/04/2020 22:15

Dobbies are starting online ordering soon.
If you’ve a garden centre that sells food they may be open. I know of one in Berkshire that I read is open.

Fuss · 01/04/2020 22:37

Looks like the garden centre near me are being crafty. You can order plants and compost to click and collect providing you order a food item too.
They sell a small selection of pies, veg, eggs and bread.

SamanthaJayne4 · 01/04/2020 23:10

I had two oleanders delivered today from YouGarden.com. They were on offer. I have also used Thompson and Morgan and found them to be very good.

SpringFan · 02/04/2020 12:58

If you are in Suffolk or Norfolk, Roys have a good selection of veg and flower plants, and the garden bits are open- although I think they have a garden only store which is closed.

Alwayswithalacrity · 02/04/2020 13:01

I have ordered from Thompson and Morgan today

MogHog · 02/04/2020 13:03

I got some veg plants from Aldi yesterday, think they were out early as part of this weeks Thursday deals.

ErrolTheDragon · 02/04/2020 13:05

Dobbies are starting online ordering soon.

DH tried to place an order with them at the weekend and said the website was bad - including that it seemed to want to insist on storing the credit card details which (if you've any sense) is a security no-no

Hopefully they'll sort themselves out.

So I've ordered seeds from Thompson &Morgan, and he ended up ordering the hose fittings we needed from amazon.
