Anyone bought a pasta maker?

I am lying in bed with a mild fever today and nothing better to do.. so pondering over buying a pasta maker.
I have visions of me making fresh pasta and my happy, smiling kids devouring it....

Anyone actually bought one recently and using it now that there's non available in the shops?

I do have a lot of Chapatti flour, and while that's not the same, I'm sure it will be doable.

14yo ds asked for one for Christmas. He makes pasta most weeks, mixes in the food processor so that's easy, leaves to rest in the fridge then takes about 10 mins to roll and cut, and 3-4 to cook. I don't eat pasta but my dc's say it is much nicer than dried.

I've made fresh pasta a few times and rolled it by hand and the kids enjoyed it. Got a pasta maker free a few months ago but never used it so will have a go next week. Ive got a packet of 00 flour in the cupboard and hopefully will have some eggs left!

@TheHumansAreDefinitelyDead - feels like several hours, actually about 15 minutes 😂

DH bought me the Phillips automatic pasta maker I had been lusting after for ages just before this whole thing kicked off. It is amazing. You literally put flour and liquid (generally egg and water) in the machine, press a button and three minutes later it starts spewing out fresh pasta. The lasagne sheets are quite small but the linguini and penne are great. DIL is currently pregnant and pasta is pretty much the only thing she wants to eat so I drop fresh pasta at their door every few days now 😊

I bought one for my brother decades ago from Habitat! He used it for quite a while but I doubt if he has it now. I remember him trying to put the stands over a coat hanger! They fell off! He eventually go a proper holder to dry the pasta.
