How can I tackle DHs hair?

Apolloanddaphne · 01/04/2020 09:38

DH has very short hair which he gets cut every 3/4 weeks. It is starting to resemble a dandelion clock and he would like it cut. At home I have the following scissors: nail, dressmakers, kitchen. He is not keen for me to go about his hair with those even though I am happy to try.

We can't buy clippers as all sold out on line. Any other solutions we haven't thought about? I could go to Boots and look for clippers or hairdressing scissors but I have a feeling they may be sold out there too.

Razor?

Apolloanddaphne · 01/04/2020 09:44

I did eye up his razor when I went for my shower. That is possible. He really needs to look presentable though. He is doing several big online presentations to outside companies at the end of the week.

I only just ordered and received clips via wahl's official website. Have you looked there?

I haven't looked anywhere. DH was looking. It's his hair.

Hmm

You do realise that you are the one who has started a thread about how you are going to tackle your DH’s hair?

Hmm
Apolloanddaphne · 01/04/2020 10:14

@FizzyGreenWater what is the face for? I know nothing about clippers or where to look for them. @Raindancer411 has given me somewhere to look on DHs behalf. This is uncharted territory for us!

Man bun

Apolloanddaphne · 01/04/2020 10:17

I know @ItsGoingTibiaK But it will be me who needs to use whatever means we decide on. I was looking for ideas after DH spoke to me about it last night. He is working all day today so won't have time to look further. Blimey folks take umbrage at everything around here.

@Apolloanddaphne

You were the one that was rude. You could have just said, "I'm not sure - DH has been looking", but you had to make the point about it being his hair. If you don't want umbrage, then think about how you speak to people who are trying to help you.

Apolloanddaphne · 01/04/2020 10:19

@reallyneedmoresleep I can't even tell you how hilarious that idea is. His hair is about 1cm in length all over and he is the epitome of a middle aged business man! The image of him with a man bun has fair cheered me up!

Thread title: 'How can I tackle DH's hair?'

I could go to Boots and look for clippers...'

And a poster replies using the word 'you', which could refer to both of you anyway, and your immediate response is to bounce that back? Wtf? You do realise you sound like a complete snark? You know nothing about clippers or where to look? Well no, you just said you could go to Boots, just like anyone else who'd never bought clippers might think of first.

Just a ridiculous nitpicking response to a perfectly normal post actually answering your question using precisely the pronouns you used yourself.

So yes, Hmm

Ilovethekittehs · 01/04/2020 10:19

Lol just Google clippers...we got some Remington ones from Amazon. I watched a YouTube video of how to cut short back and side with a fade and followed the steps. Looked surprisingly good in the end. But you need clippers if you can afford the.

Grin

Well no, they don't. That was you. I know, how about you ditch this and just go sort yourself out?

Apolloanddaphne · 01/04/2020 10:23

@FizzyGreenWater I am absolutely not trying to be snarky. I am trying to help DH resolve an issue which is bothering him. Sorry if my choice of words misled. It wasn't meant. I dashed off the query whilst walking the dog and wasn't paying too much attention to how I worded it. I grateful for any help.

Amazon haven't sold out, I've just looked, there are clippers that will arrive by the end of the week.

Apolloanddaphne · 01/04/2020 10:25

I think my talk of clippers is misleading. He has only had his hair clippered a few times and he hates how it looks and feels. I was also wondering if there was some other solution.

Thanks folks. I will look again when I get back.

Most larger supermarkets will have a small electrical section with hair clippers. Have a look when you have to go for essentials
