Tv or films for older children/preteens?

Hi. My two are 10 and 13.
Does anyone have any film or tv series their preteens have enjoyed?
We've enjoyed some Marvel films together and just watched the Lord of the Rings series which we liked a lot....
My dd, 13, loves the reality stuff - The Voice, Ant and Dec, etc- but I feel we need a change!
Not a big problem, but grateful for any ideas.

Nickelodeon is free at the moment (we are on Virgin Media) and my 10 year old has found lots of shows she is enjoying. They aren't very educational but needs must! She likes Sam and Cat/Victorious which are maybe aimed at girls but also Henry Danger and the Thundermans.

Thanks, I'll look into those!

I was hoping to go retro, with series like Little House on the Prairie or Quantum Leap?! Any ideas?!

(But can't find those anywhere, obviously)

My kids 13, 16, love All Creatures Great and Small, The A Team, Home Improvements, Top Gear Specials (the original crew, some rude language but we love them). A movie they both rewatch is The Martian. Smile

DS14 loves Father Brown.

Stranger things
The hobbit
Raising Dion
Glee

Redcrayons · 30/03/2020 17:23

Young Sheldon and Big Bang Theory
Hawaii five 0
For films try Oceans 11

I used to love Little House on the Prairie and The Walton’s. And I’m surprised they’ve never remade Quantum Leap, it was a great series.

My niece and nephew around the same age like outnumbered on bbc

At that age DC loved Merlin. There are 65 episodes so that should keep them going.

We've been watching Locke and Key with my 13 and 11 year old in Netflix enjoying its a bit creepy/dark but if your kids are ok with that genre like that it's good.

We also watched the whole series of Merlin a couple of years ago and loved that as a family.

Some brilliant ideas.

I'll be writing these down.
