I’m assuming everybody else dcs are a lot older.. I have three dcs from 2-6 years and my days now that I can’t work and everyone is at home (bar dh as he’s working 6 days a week at the moment) are so tiring and completely unchilled.
My dcs don’t really do mooching and cooking with my two year old is almost impossible.
I actually feel a bit low reading some of the posts here. I never get to chill, all this chilling and sleeping with kids, I don’t get that. My kids are up at 6 am and have bags of energy all day long. I adore them but I’m absolutely exhausted..

Got up at 7.45 and had breakfast.
Played ping pong across the garden table with ds2 before 'school'.
Supervised homeschool (helped ds2 with maths, helped ds1 email stuff to his teachers) whilst trying to get some work done myself, mainly replying to emails from my class and trying to set up Microsoft Forms quizzes.
Ate lunch, went to the (virtually empty) park with dh and the dcs to play rugby and basketball and tagged on a short walk with dh.
Did some online Pilates for the first time (my lockdown challenge), ate dinner (sausage and mash cooked by dh) and tonight had a virtual lesson with my samba drum group and a Zoom chat afterwards.
I'm aware that sounds more than a bit wankyGrin

Hour walk with dc, fed ducks
CBeebies while I did an online boots order and clutched at straws looking on Rightmove
Living room floor picnic lunch
WFH husband took dc for a bit to give me some headspace
Made cookies with a 3 year old while a 1 year old melted chocolate chips all over their face
Bit of play/TV/books
FaceTimed family
Made dinner
Handed two small children to husband to sort out stuff upstairs
Bit of family time. Squished 1 year olds delicious thighs.
Put a small person to bed
Watched three game of thrones whilst faffing online

Lockdown with two little ones is pretty full on, no playgroup, baby groups, classes or cafes to break up the day. Enjoying the slower pace and an extra pair of hands at home though, got back from walk and DH had done a few jobs like the dishwasher when he came down to make a cuppa which meant I didn’t have to do it.

1wokeuplikethis · 31/03/2020 23:42

Emmagainno3 I absolutely agree with you. I have 2 you g kids and I’m trying to work and I have had no mooching, pottering, watching anything I like on tv before 9pm, sleeping in, pootling or pottering.

I get up, I start work. I get dressed and stuff some breakfast down, listen to the kids fighting/moaning or asking me to do so and so with them and telling them I need to work. Try and calm my husband down whose losing his patience. Eat lunch. Carry on working and refereeing, try unsuccessfully to get 5mins peace when I log off. Eat tea to a cacophony of I don’t like this, what’s for pudding, I’ve got tummy ache etc etc put the kids to bed for about 17hrs, get in bath with idea of unwinding only to be interrupted every ten minutes by a question, a wee, a stinking “whopper” (my kids) finally at about 9pm I might turn the telly on and realise there’s bugger all to watch.

Am I really in the minority finding this all a massively stressful juggling act of anxiety and being pulled in all directions and not getting five bloody minutes to try and find my thoughts?

Bloody mooching....?!

Thekindyoufindinasecondhand · 31/03/2020 23:50

Woke up at 7 with zero motivation to do fuck all.
22 weeks pregnant and my morning sickness has just reappeared, convinced it's from lying round like a slob.
Went for a walk, threw up.
Ate some granola.
Did a jigsaw that I've now realised has pieces missing.
FaceTimed a friend who has had to cancel wedding (a lot of tears, hers not mine)

Tomorrow will be better I'm sure.
