Does it offer you a good range of books, popular chart ones etc?

Is there a limit to how many you can get each month?

Search for kindle unlimited books and you should be able to see exactly which ones you can get, as far as I know the point of umlinited is, you know, that there's no limit Grin

Queenoftheashes · 29/03/2020 21:06

You can have ten out at once I think but no limit as to how many you get through

MountainPeakGeek · 29/03/2020 21:09

They don't tend to put good titles on Kindle Unlimited. Mostly seemed to be really badly written chick-lit and dubious self-help and religious stuff when I last checked.

I didn't find many of the type of books I like. No recent publications.
There were lots of detective novels, so if that's your thing give it a try.
It was easy to join and easy to cancel.

Where are the good titles, is there somewhere better? Im new to this!

IncognitoIsMyFavouriteWord · 29/03/2020 21:14

I use kindle unlimited.

It's better than what the above poster says.

It's not all chick-lit at all.

I also don't believe they're badly written either.
There is a good mix of genres.

Usually, if a book has been out for a while then the author offers it on KU

Search under Kindle Unlimited on Amazon and you will what is there.

I read a lot and even more so now we're in lockdown. It's worth it IMO

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 29/03/2020 21:20

I thought it was just crap. Unlimited crap. I’ve never read such a load of boring, dull, badly written shite in my life. I reckon it’s only authors, who can’t get published elsewhere.

I cancelled it after a month

MysteriesOfTheOrganism · 29/03/2020 21:23

I use it a lot. I have had a few very good books, but mostly the quality isn't great. I guess out of every 20 downloaded I actually read only 1 - the other 19 last a few pages, maybe a chapter before being binned. That's in escapist genres like SF, fantasy and tech thrillers.

MamaRaisingBoys · 29/03/2020 21:26

You get a month free trial so it’s easy to decide if it’s worth it before paying

HypatiaCade · 29/03/2020 21:27

I cancelled after a month - most of the books i wanted weren't available on there.

Redglitter · 29/03/2020 21:27

I've got quite a lot of KU. I like thrillers & there seems to be plenty of them

WrongKindOfFace · 29/03/2020 21:28

It’s definitely a mixed bag. Can you get a free trial to see if you think it’s worth it?

StrongTea · 29/03/2020 21:29

Also a few magazines available. I think there is a great choice of all types of books.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 29/03/2020 21:33

Depends what you like reading.
There were plenty of the books of a few of the authors I like available on KU, so I've felt like I certainly got my value out of the (free) month I had it for last summer.

And they have a free month offer on again, as long as you don't forget to cancel the auto renewal.

CormoranStrike · 29/03/2020 21:52

I like crime and thrillers, so will try a free month.

Thanks

If you want more popular books then does your library offer ebooks? Unfortunately you can’t read them on a kindle but they are free and usually have a good selection.

Holothane · 29/03/2020 22:26

I stopped it as soon as I realised you can’t keep the books, I’d rather pay and keep, I adore my kindle app.
