Can anyone recommend a decent laptop for 11 year old?

Currently have 1 ancient laptop that kids are sharing.
Eldest could do with one to herself and has birthday coming up.
I guess we need one that runs word, PowerPoint etc as they use these at school but nothing particularly fancy.
Any recommendations?

I've just been looking and I found the John Lewis guides really helpful - they have one on iPads and tablets, one on laptops and one on 2in1 laptops. We went for the Lenovo C340 Ideapad from Curry's in the end.

Thanks @ScrapThatThen we're starting to look for DD as she starts Secondary in Sept. Don't want to spend a fortune but don't want to be replacing straight away either.

I recently got a refurbished Dell Latitude E7270 from Amazon for £395. Very impressed so far.

We got our dds a Lenovo yoga each. It has a touchscreen and is very reliable and we have been very impressed...

Great thanks-can you get Microsoft office on all these? And how does it work now? Is it a subscription?

Our dds’ school gives them a cheap Microsoft subscription....

Just bought this Lenovo for my 9 year old. We needed something basic for homeschooling and it’s been brilliant for £229. Came pre-installed with Office apps.
