Hi posting here for more traffic.I’ve just dropped a pot of dark brown leather colour restorer on the bedroom carpet. Any ideas how to get it off? I’ve not touched it yet. The carpet is man made so will take most products I expect . I CANNOT believe I’ve done this

I recently spilled wood stain on a new carpet. I got it out - I can still see a shadow because I know it's there - like this....

You need white cloths...not coloured to avoid transferring dye from the cloth. Get a bowl of warm water and add some vanish powder and bicarbonate of soda. Gently sponge the carpet with the water mix, using another cloth to blot.

Keep doing this for ages. Repeat as needed after it dries. You can also try spraying with WD40 and hoovering.

I finished with getting the whole carpet steam cleaned.

Good luck!

Thanks so much, that's so helpful, I think I'm winning! Trying not to stress and accept it will take ages. Thank goodness we went for cheaper man made as wool would not have been so forgiving
