I did last week for their staff room with my normal shop. But this was before Lockdown and screens etc. And would they be allowed to have it now - it may not be a good idea if encourages people to touch their mouths? I have witnessed first hand how much shit they put up with from people which is probably day in day out and want to show that many of their customers do appreciate them. Is it a bad idea?

Brilliant idea, OP-go for it!Cake I'm sure that'd be most appreciated.
You made me laugh, tho - how else do people eat if not orally, do you think?Grin

Good idea. Local shop here had some awful behaviour (people arrested!) so when I was next in I took chocolates. They were shop bought so knew no bugs but they seemed really pleased to know they are appreciated.

@Katinski. Oops- that is true. I am assuming they eat at work during lunch Blush

I bought brownies n flapjacks and they were happily received. I would recommend anyone shopping to do this occasionally. The shop staff are risking themselves everyday, receive grief n abuse and there were no screens yet either for protection as they are due to be installed soon. Anything to make them feel appreciated is nice I think Smile

@Binglebong. Just seen your post. Wow - they must have behaved terribly to actually be arrested. You did a lovely thing Smile

oh that's interesting OP

I had thought of doing something but had the same worries as you. Also, I kind of don't want to take food off the shelves as a gift?

so maybe I'll wait till later...I don't know!

I've been buying individually wrapped sweets. Maoam, swizzles multipacks etc. One poor woman actually started crying when I said they were for the staff

Aldi today was the best stocked I have ever seen. Positively overflowing with everything. They are doing an awesome job Smile But it's a good point about not doing this for shops that are low on supplies and maybe individually wrapped is best

I think even if they decide not to eat things people really appreciate the gesture. There is going to be a huge turnover of retail staff when this is all over and they really have seen the worst of some people.

OP brownies and flap jacks sound great! I am craving a bit now...

That is very true. It just says thank you- we appreciate you
