Just watching Back in Time for the corner shop on BBC 2 - it showed a packet of walkers cheese and onion crisps and they were in a green packet! People have said they were never green only ever blue - but they were

I was going to comment saying ahhhh not this again! But for every thread that has been started the proof is finally here! 😂

TheBoots · 24/03/2020 20:41

I KNEW IT!!!! Thank you for this, I've spent the past 30 odd years thinking I've gone mad.

Postspecific · 24/03/2020 20:42

Yup. Remember it well.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 24/03/2020 20:43

I’ve always known this and cannot understand why folk thought otherwise.

Cheese and Onion green

Salt and vinegar blue.

Shockers · 24/03/2020 20:44

Salt and vinegar were in blue!

goose1964 · 24/03/2020 20:45

I don't remember having walkers crisps in my area then only golden wonder or smiths

RedRed9 · 24/03/2020 20:47

But Walkers claim to never have made green packaging for cheese and onion?! They keep the drafts and samples and said it was never green!

What is this parallel universe?!

PenguinsOnParade · 24/03/2020 20:48

I only remember Golden Wonder as well so I thought that's where the colour confusion came from as Walkers did different colours to the other companies when I remember seeing them.

MissFlite · 24/03/2020 20:50

Golden Wonder were the same when I was a child I'm sure.
Green C&O Blue S&V

I'm almost 50 and still can't grasp it the other way round.

triedandtestedteacher · 24/03/2020 20:53

Yes they were green. I remember it happening when they changed it. For ages my mum
Kept buying me the wrong crisps. Salt and vinegar were always blue and cheese and onion were green which makes way more sense because cheese and onion have onion in them so they are a 'green'. Salt and vinegar is what you have on chips from the sea side and the sea is salty so clearly these crisps should be blue. It's bothered me a lot over the years

lamppostdog · 24/03/2020 20:55

Golden wonder and KP were like that

raffle · 24/03/2020 20:55

Walkers claim they never changed it tho

OneUsernameOnly · 24/03/2020 20:56

My mind is blown because I was convinced cheese and onion were only ever blue! Couldn’t believe it when watching this programme - had to keep rewinding it 😂

From walkers website

Walkers cheese and onion were green!
triedandtestedteacher · 24/03/2020 20:57

That's a lie

Smellbellina · 24/03/2020 20:57

If Walkers are guilty of rewritting history that actually is something straight out of 1984.

I actually find this more concerning than the other thread about restricting our human rights and mass texts.

JoeySpecial · 24/03/2020 21:11

I remember them green!!

triedandtestedteacher · 24/03/2020 21:12

They are lying but the the question is why??

DappledThings · 24/03/2020 21:12

Probably an error by the props makers

hennaoj · 24/03/2020 21:18

They were definitely green.

Daisychainsandglitter · 24/03/2020 21:21

I'm 35 and I remember c&o green and s£v blue. Think walkers have it wrong

BarbaraofSeville · 24/03/2020 21:25

I remember them being green and the swap too, sometime between about 1979 and 1982?

If it never happened, why do so many people remember it?

dorisrainbow · 24/03/2020 21:25

I always thought they used to be green but when walkers said they weren’t I thought I had it wrong....

Crunchymum · 24/03/2020 21:26

What colour were plain if smokey bacon were red? Shock
