Can we move DP in to mine during all this?!

Any ideas/suggestions welcome. For added contest I'm higher risk with the C-virus because of my asthma.

DP was supposed to be giving notice on the house he rents around now to move out of there and into mine by the end of April. He lives 60 miles away (1.5 hour trip one way). We were going to move some stuff ourselves and get a man and van to do the big stuff. We would also need to dump stuff, arrange collection for furniture we'd like to donate to charity (from both our houses) and put some stuff into storage. Was never going to be a simple move.

Do we just admit defeat and accept it's now not going to happen anytime soon?
We're going to be spending all our time together - just gutted to keep spending on his rent and bills when it's not necessary.

Lots of people across social media and forums are really unclear about house moves. I’ve been looking into it as I’ve given notice on one rented house to move to another but I haven’t found any concrete information on what happens one way or the other.

I'm afraid you're going to have to swallow the rent expense. There's no way that all that to-ing and fro-ing would be allowed. Nor would it be sensible for that matter.

Most charities are shut too. Including BHF who collect furniture.

Ugh. £1100 odd down the drain each month on top of the hundreds we're already down with the virus (aware we're lucky in comparison to many)

I can't see you will get a man with a van , I've seen the guys I use , a family removal company have closed as they are not permitted to enter someone's home

Better to leave the move for now with journey restrictions in place too

My DP and I watched a family move into the house next door but one today. Complete with removal truck and (glove and mask wearing) removal men. I guess they were so far along the process they couldn’t postpone?
