Does anyone have a round gold mirror above their fireplace?

Can’t find the perfect one online. The one I liked most is sold out (Dunelm)
I like the sunburst ones but some of them have a tiny mirror in the middle, still like quite a lot of glass if that makes sense.

I bought one that sounds similar to that for my mum from Laura Ashley a couple of years ago.

I have asked local antiques shops to keep an eye out for me and call if they find one. All have agreed but I've not yet had the call. One found a sunburst clock but I want a mirror specifically.

I got this one from Frasers, it's a metal surround that's a kind of dull gold but could be sprayed?

That’s a beautiful fireplace aquamarine! I have similar colour wall, a black fireplace and white surround too.

some gorgeous ones on made.com, a bit more minimalistic in style that the post above, but still really nice.

is this a working fireplace?

they have almost died out now, but in the days when open fires were popular, it was recommended never to put a fire above.

Far too many people (mostly women or children) were burned to death or horibly scarred after standing looking closely into the mirror when their clothes caught fire.

An almost forgotten safety rule.

"recommended never to put a mirror above."

I mean

I have a Laura Ashley one, although it's called "champagne" rather than gold as such.

peachypetite · 24/03/2020 15:47

@coffeeandcreamer where did you get that made?

OP posts:
aquamarine1 · 24/03/2020 16:02

Sorry @peachypetite I should have checked before I posted. It's no longer on the website. Your fireplace sounds great too!

peachypetite · 24/03/2020 16:03

It’s so frustrating, you know when in your mind you know what you want but can’t find it.

I like this one on the John Lewis Website. It isn’t cheap but it looks good.
