Best way to wash a hairy dogbed

Without covering the machine in fur. We’ve been using an old fleecy dressing gown as an impromptu cat dog bed. It needs washed.

I reckon in a pillow case with an old scratchy towel.
dH reckons just scratchy towel in machine with it.

Or....wash then run old towel through mach8ne to catch bits.

Get some Vamoosh per hair dissolver.
I have seen it recommended on Instagram a few times.

Put the dressing gown on a hanger. Hopefully you have a garden, then either with washing up gloves/sellotape or a stiff brush, brush the dressing gown all over really hard to remove the hair. Then wash it, then clean the filter and door rim of your machine. Good luck!

My DM's job as a child and teen was to clean the beds of their dogs before washing by:
1- brush with an old brush with hard bristles several times, then
2 - brush with a rough damp cloth several times

This way a lot of the hair gets removed before washing and no sticky tape (expensive in her youth) had to be wasted.

She liked doing this better than turning the ground in the chicken shed.
