How long will a bottle of vodka stay good for in the freezer?

ViciousTrollope · 21/03/2020 23:24

In my isolation-induced stocktake I've just found half a bottle of stoli in my freezer which dates back to my housewarming in 2018.

Is it still drinkable?

Answers required fairly urgently.

Yea

Drbrowns · 21/03/2020 23:25

I would drink it even if it hadn’t been in the freezer

Herpesfreesince03 · 21/03/2020 23:25

I’d drink it

I didn’t think alcohol froze?

middleager · 21/03/2020 23:27

But how on earth have you managed not to drink it in over 2 years??

Ninkanink · 21/03/2020 23:27

It doesn’t. It gets thick.

It will keep indefinitely.

ViciousTrollope · 21/03/2020 23:34

Oooh all good then? Thought the alcohol content might have been nullified.

I don't like vodka (am a gin and whiskey drinker) but desperate times et al.

Waterandlemonjuice · 21/03/2020 23:35

It’s fine

SpoonBlender · 21/03/2020 23:52

The only way to damage a bottle of booze over 30% or so is to leave the cap off. It'll be good indefinitely. I've got bottles of whisky that I've had for over 20 years, they're fine.

Baileys and wine are much less tolerant of age!

DH keeps his vodka in the freezer. It means ice is never needed which waters down the drink.

Stompythedinosaur · 22/03/2020 01:16

I would drink it.

RedDiamond · 22/03/2020 01:34

Get some jelly babies and soak them in your vodka, preferably for as long as you can resist. I can personally tell you that they are absolutely wonderful.

isitfridayyett · 22/03/2020 02:21

Definitely go for it...enjoy!

Aquamarine1029 · 22/03/2020 02:33

It will be good literally forever stored like that. Don't even worry about it.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 22/03/2020 02:38

definitely. Enjoy!

Ontheboardwalk · 22/03/2020 02:50

Forever! Hope you are enjoying it

My mum stopped drinking vodka a long, long time ago. I bought a 1l bottle of black label smirnoff some time between 1994 and 1997 and gave it to her. Unopened I bought it off her recently and its been thoroughly enjoyed since

PheasantOnACushion · 22/03/2020 07:26

God I love a decent ice cold vodka. Been years.
