I have so much going on in my life at the moment on top of the current shitty c word, I absolutely forgot what day it is tomorrow.
Happy Mother’s Day to you all Flowers

I remembered to post a card to my mum earlier in the week. She's self isolating and miles away so we've had to cancel our visit. Then I forgot all about it. I think dh and the dds have remembered but I wouldn't mind if they didn't at the moment.

My Dd 15 wont remember I suspect unless her Dad buys something for her to give me. In that case I dont see the point. I’m struggling to wish my own Mum Hapoy Mother’s Day to be honest. Some people I norice more loving in a crisis - a bit like how alcohol affects people differently - I seem to get more morose and bitter about Mother’s Day as I don’t feel any love towards my family. Am I horrible ?

rainbowlou · 21/03/2020 22:53

No you aren’t horrible!i struggle to find cards as they’re all so sickly to me! I can’t tell
Mine I love her more than life on a card, because we don’t have that kind of relationship x

Thanks rainbowlou I hate Mother’s Day glad to know I’m not alone

ScorpionQueen · 21/03/2020 23:00

This year has been the first for many when I have found a card I don't mind sending. I love my mum but she's very hard work and I have always struggled with the best mum ever type cards. Usually I get something arty but not mushy. I found a nice card in Lidl that wasn't ott.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 21/03/2020 23:04

I've been very aware of it. My mum lives alone and while she doesn't give a crap about mother's day, she's going to feel lonely as she won't be able to see any of us tomorrow. So DD and I spent the afternoon making her a tea party which we'll deliver to her door and then we'll come home and join her by by Skype. Not remotely ideal but I know she'll love it.

Happy mother's day to you all. Flowers

megletthesecond · 21/03/2020 23:12

Yes. I apologised to my mum today because I'd forgotten to send her a card.

cricketmum84 · 21/03/2020 23:16

I was convinced it was next Sunday!! I was so confused when DH got all the cards out and was getting organised especially as it's me ordering him to write a card for his mum!!!

Text my sister and said "erm I think DH thinks it's Mother's Day tomorrow???" She said erm I wonder why that might be....!

I think our heads are just so full of all the other c word crap that there's not much room for anything else!!

PheasantOnACushion · 22/03/2020 07:25

I forgot all about it too.

DH brought me a mothers day cup of coffee in bed (which he does every day :) ) but I am not reminding the DCs because they will be so mortified they forgot and will feel really bad!

It's no big deal all things considered!

Dhalandchips · 22/03/2020 07:27

I'd forgotten but my beautiful dd(11) just brought me a cuppa and a card. My kids are just brilliant. I'm very fortunate. (sorry!)

Aragog · 22/03/2020 07:48

I sent a gift online to my mum earlier this week and we sent flowers to MIL too.

Teen Dd has been in isolation and it been able to get anything but I already told her it's fine. I don't need anything and just her spending time with me today is enough. So we've got a 'posh' takeaway from a local restaurant coming and we are settling down to watch the new Emma, which has been released early on the whole 'cinema at home' rental.

thistimeofyear · 22/03/2020 08:51

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone! I hope the sun is shining wherever you are. We will get through this SmileBrewCakeFlowersGin whatever it takes xxx

Whoareyoudududu · 22/03/2020 09:00

Posted a card to my Mum earlier in the week and she text to thank me and said she’d forgotten all about it Grin.

DH forgot so today’s just a regular day for me...

Seeitsortit · 22/03/2020 09:13

I pre emptied it - I have a card for my mum but told dd not to bother under the circumstances. She feels bad - as soon as I asked if her dad had remembered to sort out for his new partner on behalf of their son she tried to surreptitiously go on Amazon - I then felt bad, I’d only said it because I knew we would be passing by so could have dropped something off (her brother is only little and she might have felt it more - this year I don’t actually feel like celebrating, I just want to get through all this so I can see my dad and my mum again (dad has dementia to the point that Skype/phone calls would just confuse him more).
Actually I have asked for something from dd - she makes better Yorkshire puddings than me so she has a job to do!!!!

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 22/03/2020 09:22

I got tea and toast and home made cards in bed. Perfect start to the day. Happy mother's day everyone.

Lynda07 · 22/03/2020 09:32

I hadn't forgotten exactly but didn't think much about it. I received a lovely flowering plant arrangement, that's sufficient for me. I'll have a nice day on my own hopefully Smile.
