Anyone here live in Leyburn, North Yorkshire or at least know the town well ?

A long time ago (thirty-plus years) there were two neighbouring shops/businesses at the top end of the Market Square. One was called 'Isobel Aked', the other was 'The Bit Box'. I used to visit Leyburn as a child frequently with my family and I never knew what these two establishments were. Does anyone know ? Are you the mysterious Isobel ? Been bugging me for years. Thankyou.

I think there was a coin-op launderette at that end of the town as well.

Ah ok, I am 39 so wouldn't remember that. My dad has lived there for the last 20 years. Beautiful part of the world!

I've found out that 'Isobel Aked Limited' was founded in 1970 and dissolved in 1977. That's all !
