Are we just right to assume they'll all be cancelled?

I'm booked to go to Greece end July first week Aug.

We are due to fly to the states last week of July, first week of August, we've accepted the fact it won't go ahead and have lost our deposit. Would rather go next year when I know it'll be 100% safe to travel, sorry if you lose your holiday too, it's such a rubbish time 😔

Ohmymg · 21/03/2020 14:11

I’m booked to go away 10 August with balance due by 5th May. Not prepared to pay deposit if there’s even a slight risk so travel agent is arranging vouchers for deposit total to go towards one next year

Doubletrouble99 · 21/03/2020 14:16

Have cancelled our Cornwall hols till next year.

marblesgoing · 21/03/2020 14:24

Due to Spain mid July. Got one payment left so still paying it and will get refund hopefully.

Resigned to the fact we won't be going but can't reschedule to to annual leave not being able to be booked

TonTonMacoute · 21/03/2020 14:27

We've got two weeks in France booked for July and I'm assuming we won't be going. I'm not cancelling yet as then I wouldn't be able to claim on my travel insurance.

Gertie75 · 21/03/2020 14:29

We've booked a week in Cornwall in July, I'm hoping the restrictions may be lifted a bit by then but won't be surprised if they're not.

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 21/03/2020 14:32

We've booked to go to Egypt at the end of August/beginning of September. Final payment due in July. Currently waiting to see what happens.

TravellingSpoon · 21/03/2020 14:35

We are supposed to be going to Spain for a week in August, which I doubt we will be going on. But still making the payments so I can get a refund.

I also have booked a weekend in Norfolk for the end of August, which I am slightly more hopeful about.

Deadringer · 21/03/2020 14:35

Booked for the netherlands mid july. Its the first holiday that my whole family were to go on, and i organised it for my dds significant birthday. She was to travel from the other side of the world to join us. It means a lot to is as a family and wasn't cheap, I took on a second job to pay for it. (which i have lost due to the virus). I am still hoping it might happen, or if not that we can put it off until later in the year. Its very disappointing but there are bigger things to worry about right now.

TeenPlusTwenties · 21/03/2020 14:38

We've one to Jersey in August. I'm sort of still hoping we can go, we can take our own food and just enjoy a change of scenery.
But I'm expecting it won't be possible.

Offler · 21/03/2020 15:14

Cornwall Easter, Wales May half term, Somerset in August and Sussex in October.

Which ones we will we get we get to take I wonder?

edwinbear · 21/03/2020 15:19

Due to go to Thailand first two weeks of July. I’m quietly optimistic it will be fine.

Karwomannghia · 21/03/2020 15:20

Just flights to France so far. Waiting to see basically.

0hT00dles · 21/03/2020 15:21

Booked and paid for flights for fuerteventura for all of August. Holding out hope still🤞🏻

Bluewater1 · 21/03/2020 15:24

Cornwall in August....half paid.....half due....at this point I very much doubt we will be able to go

Chewbecca · 21/03/2020 15:29

Early July post GCSE holiday to Italy. That won't be happening. Balance is due in a couple of weeks which we're not paying. Don't know what we will do with the flights yet.

Also have a cruise booked from Barcelona in October half term - still mildly hopeful that will go ahead.

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 21/03/2020 15:30

Turkey end of July

melissasummerfield · 21/03/2020 15:34

Center parcs in May and Devon in the last week of August Sad

duckme · 21/03/2020 15:35

Trip to Florida and New York for the last two weeks of August. We booked it last May, and have scrimped and saved for it. Three families are supposed to be going.
I'm sort of resigned to the fact we won't be going and I'm heartbroken. I know that tour operators are really hiking their prices up for next year so that may price us out of rescheduling for next year. Potentially we could go October or November but the kids will have missed so much school I am sort of reluctant to take them out again.
I know there are bigger things going on, but I'm allowing myself to wallow in self pity over this for a while and then I'll put my big girl pants on and get over it.

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 21/03/2020 15:36

Cornwall end of July - still expecting we ll go as holing we op be over the worst by then

Casino218 · 21/03/2020 15:38

Is but this country and we currently have virus so will keep that booking if I can. It's a tent in a field so hopefully can.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 21/03/2020 15:39

Fully paid up trip abroad in July. Clinging to a fantasy that we'll still go, but I know that won't happen. Our travel insurance should cover it though.

rookiemere · 21/03/2020 15:43

We were meant to be going to Costa Rica end of June ( scottish school holidays). Got an email during the week to say the flight had been cancelled so we're due a full refund except BA try to get you to take their voucher instead which is horribly sneaky of them.

I feel huge relief mostly as it saves any worry about having to lose the money, coupled with sadness that the trip I'd so carefully planned for us won't be taking place.

We've moved a big family break at Easter in the Lake District to October break - I'm now pinning my hopes on that going ahead.

HouseElfy · 21/03/2020 15:43

Definitely wont happen, and would be surprised it it happens next year tbh. We are looking at 18 months of this.

Mirrorxx · 21/03/2020 15:43

We are supposed to be going to Spain at start of September, which I don’t think will happen. However we have a holiday booked at the end of October that I’m trying to remain optimistic about since we had to cancel our holiday at Easter.
