Eg dishwashers.

Curry’s/PC World are bastards, John Lewis very expensive, AO I’ve been hearing bad reviews recently...

I know I’m being dense but I can’t think where else to try anymore!

Please can someone help me, I have run out of brain!!

Anyone? Probably should have posted this in the coronavirus topic - it seems to have more traffic than AIBU these days!

Not Currys

Got my last microwave at local independent shop. As with all small appliances, if it breaks in guarantee period, he will refund or replace me and then take it up with the manufacturer. Bliss

I just bought a fridge freezer off AO and unfortunately there was a cock up but they were really good at sorting it out. If you really don't want to go with them Boots Electrical is worth a look.

John Lewis, ao.com, and to be honest the last time I was in Ikea the white goods looked pretty good! Don't know how extensive the range is though. I always check Which? Reviews beforehand as well.

Lurleene · 20/03/2020 22:52

Sorry, I mean Boots Kitchen Appliances

stuntbanana · 20/03/2020 22:54

I've bought appliances from curry's and ao depending upon who are stocking what I need at the time , both with no problems

MargotMoon · 20/03/2020 23:04

Think Boots is a subsidiary of AO, isn't it? I bought a fridge through them and there was a cock up with the delivery but they sorted it out she waived the fee so I was happy enough

Worriedaboutundiagnosed · 20/03/2020 23:06

AO. Bought my fridge and washing machine from them, very happy with the service.

I always check the co op as they often have good deals, especially if you have a members card. A bit hit & miss but definitely worth a look.

PenguinsOnParade · 20/03/2020 23:20

I've never had a problem with Boots. It goes through AO but you also get loads of advantage card points (that's if they haven't changed it, it's been a while since I last used them.)

ATowelAndAPotato · 20/03/2020 23:24

Thanks everyone, I never would have though of boots electrical or co-op.
Sounds like AO could be ok

John Lewis usually has the best guarantee policy, and should price match, but you have to do your homework.

mummymayhem18 · 20/03/2020 23:51

Another vote for John Lewis. Like a previous person said there is better guarantee coverage.

acatcalledjohn · 21/03/2020 00:11

Boots kitchen appliances is AO.

We got all our stuff through AO, and recently a new dishwasher. No issues.

Tinkletwat · 21/03/2020 00:21

JL, they actually know about the products they sell

Nat6999 · 21/03/2020 00:47

A local independent company who sell loads of discontinued or slightly damaged models, my dishwasher had a tiny scratch on the side, saved me nearly £200. When I got divorced I bought all new appliances from them, got a fuel fuel cooker, Bosch washer & Fridge freezer for £1100 all with full warranties, saved over £500 compared with Currys.

ATowelAndAPotato · 21/03/2020 07:47

Thanks everyone Smile
