Nursery isn’t staying open, I’m a key worker.. what do I do)

I’m really stuck,

Dd4 goes To nursery and they sent an email saying that they will be staying open. Now they have said they aren’t.

What do people do? I have zero family or friends for help.

is it a chain? If yes is there another nursery in the chain staying open she could go to?

Or a local childminder with a space for a keyworkers child?

Gingermidget · 20/03/2020 18:36

My childminder has been asked to submit opening / closing time data and number of spaces to the local authority. It may be worth getting in contact with your LA?

Is the child's father around? Are you frontline services or can work wait a few days until you sort it?

Call the LA, they can direct you.

My nursery is open only for key workers and is taking applications from key workers who don’t have child care in place so you could try calling some others and seeing what their position is.

Contact your LA, they'll give you a list of one's staying open for key workers. Some won't have spaces but many will.
