I had a abdo operation three months ago. Follow up appointment were they will ok me to work is on the 25th. If the appointment is kept. I do feel ready but Im also abit iffy about it. I can take up to six months off but they will start struggling after next week. My gp said its up to me and im starting to go abit stir crazy. I wont be dealing with adults so no heavy lifting. My family are saying Im mad to go back, what would you do?

Go back if your fit. Not sure why you wouldn't.

Im guessing the appointment may well be cancelled then it will be down to me to decide. I think they are worried but Ive told them Its probably one of the safest places to be working if you have to go to work.

If I was fit to be at work then I don't go. I'm not sure why you wouldn't

Too confusing, not sure what the issue is?!

if you are signed off as fit enough to work, you go back.

MadameJosephine · 19/03/2020 17:50

It’s quite simple, if you are fit to go back and would have done so if it weren’t for the Coronavirus then you should do so, don’t pretend that you’re not well enough just to avoid going back

I suspect its going to get very manic, i would be tempted to either go back now so you can ease into it and work on any changes as they arrive.

Or if you're still feeling a bit weak try and increase your walking, nutrition etc and get ready to dive back in. Whether you go back in 3 days or 3 months you will be needed to roll your sleeves up and help.

Hope you're feeling ok.

Wait and see if the out patient appointment goes ahead. If it doesnt then decide.
