What to do with Ebay listings at the moment

Not that I've actually sold anything for the past month (personal seller mainly selling old clothes, everything on Buy it Now so the items just sell whenever). Presumably as long as post offices are open then I can still sell things? I live within walking distance. I can't print postage labels at home as I don't have a printer.

But people who become ill are being told to stay at home for weeks.

Not that I'm actually expecting to sell anything in the current climate, but you never know.

I've got things listed and was thinking the same. If someone buys something, you could decide what to do then.
You can cancel a purchase.

You could order a label printer online.

I had to take all mine down as I can't guarantee whether I'll be able to get out to post things or not. My family are self isolating due to contact with a confirmed case and subsequent symptoms. I made a couple of sales which I had to cancel.

Just a tip. If you need to take down lots of listings as a private seller, switch to classic view. In classic view you can select up to 200 listings to end at once.

I have a major dilemma about this I list for a cat charity and was worried about couriers not being able to deliver at the moment they still are but if they stop I am going to have to message any buyers that I cant deliver and the cat charity is going to struggle enough with no fundraising events as they are a small charity I can see this being the end of them

I'm keeping the listings that are already up but not putting anything new on.

@isseywith4vampirecats
Martin Lewis has just set up a charity fund for small local charities - fundraising.co.uk/2020/03/19/covid-19-martin-lewis-offers-1m-fund-for-small-and-local-charities/

Ursaminor · 19/03/2020 16:42

@isseywith4vampirecars - sorry - that fund is for specific coronavirus charities. Didn't notice that, apologies.

Countmeout · 19/03/2020 16:43

I took all down. Too uncertain in case services were disrupted

naturallysparkling · 19/03/2020 18:40

I'm a buyer on ebay and i'm still buying stuff .. i would understand if the lister couldn't supply due to CV but I believe it's better to try and keep commerce going ... might even create some jobs for delivery drivers ?

raskolnikova · 19/03/2020 19:12

I also cancelled my active listings, like others I couldn't guarantee we wouldn't be in lockdown by the time they finished. Luckily they didn't have bids yet anyway. I'll relist them when things are more stable (whenever that may be...)

MikeUniformMike · 19/03/2020 19:15

I seem to be buying more than usual Blush

willowpatterns · 19/03/2020 19:17

I looked at something earlier today, and the listing said that they would do their best to post out as soon as possible after the listing ended, but they couldn't promise anything.

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 19/03/2020 19:17

I've noticed that no one is buying anything at the moment (v small business seller - mainly cosmetics samples)

I'm keeping my listings up as long as the post is still running

QuimJongUn · 19/03/2020 19:18

I had a few items on which finished on Sunday - they sold for far less than similar items have sold for in the past. I considered taking them down but meh, if someone gets a bargain more power to them. I won't list anything else for a good while, though.

Ylvamoon · 19/03/2020 19:23

I am with naturallysparkling ...
Keep your litings up and worry about the delivery later. Postal services are still working and why shouldn't they? It's easier to get post and buy online if you have to self isolate...

isseywith4vampirecats · 19/03/2020 19:55

I have a ltd edition royal Worcester figure on at the moment and people from Russia are enquiring answering back no problem except there might not be a plane to deliver it

DitheringDoris · 19/03/2020 20:54

I sell lots on eBay on buy it now and have taken all items off today because of dc we will be hunkering down for a couple of months so I won’t be going to the post office and I find couriers a faff.

Ninkanink · 19/03/2020 20:56

I’ve ended all listings. I’m not leaving the house unless it’s essential.
