For those dreading lock down because their living circumstances are awful, do you know where help is?

I was thinking of those who live with DV, any form of domestic abuse really.
This must be a terrifying time for you.

The help is still out there.
If you need anyone to talk to, if you can, there will be loads on here.
Just a thought.

I'm also thinking of families in poverty. Those with already poor accommodation who are going to be cold/more hungry than usual.

I was thinking about this...lockdown is going to be much easier if you have a big house and garden...but imagine being stuck in a tower block with kids during this.

Yes, as someone who works with vulnerable families, this is my greatest worry. It is a relief to know schools will remain open to children with social workers among others and be able to offer free school meals to children on pupil premium, enabling us to check in daily with at least some children and their families once a day.

I haven't got a clue. We will sink.

Fsmmum What do you mean? Do you need help or advice?

Was thinking about this. I have two extras living at my house so far. Exh is coming back too.

It’s children in neglected or abusive homes I worry about. Children can’t do anything to help themselves, they are completely powerless.

I was watching them say about how they will give vouchers for poorer families so the kids still get lunch and I thought “ some parents will just use that for themselves and let the kids starve”.

Going to school was the only respite some of these kids had, or going out with their friends, now they will be trapped at home in what could be an ever escalating situation due to stress and proximity.

It is really really so worrying.

Extreme cases make bad laws.
