I just received this email;

I hadn’t even read the previous one but this has made me absolutely crack up. I hope it makes some of you smile too

In other circumstances I would have found that funny but all I can think of is the poor staff who will be struggling to buy food pay their rent etc with no income for the foreseeable future.

It really is shit.

It’s a small family owned restaurant with very few staff beyond the family. They also own the newsagents and corner shop next door which is remaining open so they will still have an income. But I agree the way the government has done this is decimating the leisure industry as a whole. Hundreds of independent, and chain, pubs, restaurants and other businesses are likely to go under.

However, I thought that we could at least share a wry smile at his public autocorrect fail.

I made the same autocorrect mistake on a school snow closure text sent to all the parents a few years ago. It embarrassed me to realise i must type shit more often than I type shut

I dread to think what sweary words I use more than the reasonable autocorrect possibilities. Thankfully I have a separate work phone so the autocorrect on there has not learned so much foul language from me!
