Laura Ashley furniture order and administration

Folks- is there anything at all I can do about a £700 furniture order with Laura Ashley who are now in administration? Paid by visa debit not credit unfortunately

Contact your bank. You can do chargebacks in certain circumstances with debit cards.

Do you know if it is ready yet? You may find the administrators will fulfil some orders rather than cancel. However if the goods are still at supplier/manufacturer possibly not, in which case you lodge a claim as a creditor. There is always the vague hope the company is rescued, as has happened several times in the past.

We luckily had an order delivered this morning, just as I heard the news. It's such a shame. Hope you can all get sorted.

Amazingly I was able to cancel the order (not due for despatch until 10th April) under distance selling regs - I will await the cash in my account before celebrating! Going to have a very disappointed child with no lovely new bedroom furniture but at least hopefully the cash to buy some!

@HermanHermit can I ask how you cancelled your order please? I have ordered furniture, at the time of order I believe it gave a delivery date of around 30th March but I haven't heard anything so far. I would like to know how to cancel as I'm worried I will lose my money and not receive the furniture. Thanks

I'm in this position too, £1200 sofa due to be delivered in a couple of weeks. I paid by credit card but don't know who to contact

Well I've managed to get through to LA customer service who said it shld be delivered in 2 weeks and to ring next week if I haven't heard by then Hmm

@march2november I called customer services and asked. It was scheduled for 10 April but a lot could happen between now and then so I cancelled. Not received the written confirmation I asked for however , so calling again.

Thanks. I called and was told it was too late to cancel and it was already shipped. I am not entitled to a refund but I'm not sure it will be delivered!!! Does anyone know if there is any protection if payment was with a debit card? I contacted my bank who said it was worth trying to request a charge back. Not sure what to do. Really wanted the furniture, had had my eye on it for ages but waited for the sale in January

An update on this. The order was cancelled and a refund supposed to hit my account 4 days later. It hasn’t. I’ve called and repeatedly been told that a refund was made on the 17th. It hasn’t. The customer service line now says the number doesn’t exist. Bastards.

I’m trying but can’t get through to the bank - the phone lines say to use the chat bot and the guy at the end of the chat bot says I have to use the phone!
