2.24pm and I'm tempted to open a bottle of wine.

Anyone else? Does Rioja have antiviral properties? Im sure I read red wine does.

God, if I wasn’t pregnant I’d be right with you.

Connie222 · 17/03/2020 15:03

It’s probably for the best that I’ll be pregnant until August or I’d be drinking everyday through this shitshow.

MozziesLoveMe · 17/03/2020 15:15

Ah, so not just me then?! Wink

I'm really having to restrain myself, as could easily end up drinking daily for the foreseeable. Not good.

The sun is shining though and a GnT in the garden would be perfect right now!

Hmm I actually have one of those mini gins in the kitchen left over from Christmas ......but no tonic. Ah well, just a gin then 👍

I've just opened a beer. Thought it was less risky than opening wine and potentially drinking the whole thing.

Also, I'm supposed to be getting married in a couple of months so I've been really good with diet. If the weddings going to be possibly cancelled I may as well get back on the beer and chocolate. 🍺

I had a glass of wine last night. I never drink during the week and I never drink alone but I just thought fuck it, I deserve it for making it through this shit show of a day (office locked down with me in it at 9.25am 😵)

LER83 · 17/03/2020 16:52

I'm going to stock up on cocktail ingredients. For some reason I find it totally acceptable to drink cocktails at anytime of day! Oh is working from home for the next 14 days. He has taken up residence at our dining table, in our completely open plan downstairs, where our 3 children are playing playstation. He makes a lot of important calls...going to be a loooong 14 days!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 17/03/2020 16:58

I've recently bought a bottle of lemon gin, loads of tonic and 5 bottles of wine.If they lock me down I wont be sober when it happens that's for sure Grin

soupforbrains · 17/03/2020 17:34

I am as yet not working from home and I already feel the urge to start drinking early. I will probably be working from home from either tomorrow or the day after, pending the decision of the big wigs.

I am going to stop off on the way home and do a shop. primarily of booze and chocolate, also we need loo roll but I don't know if I'll be able to find any anywhere....

WhenYouveAFirstInEnglish · 17/03/2020 17:36

I had three large gins last night. Seemed appropriate. Back to normal tonight.

Youngatheart00 · 17/03/2020 19:53

Ok, I’ve held off until now, now I’m opening the wine!! Small mercies of wfh is a later get up, so I won’t feel guilty.

AlCalavicci · 17/03/2020 20:18

I started drinking about umm >>> picks up tin and shakes gently

Youngatheart00 · 17/03/2020 20:22

Cheers all. We bloody well deserve it.

Wine
Rosecatter · 17/03/2020 20:22

I've got a sainsburys delivery due tomorrow (booked a couple of weeks ago-there aren't any now). I've just increased the amount of wine, I probably won't get half of the food I've ordered anywayGrin

FlyFishingg · 17/03/2020 21:16

Wish I'd restocked booze earlier. We've got some Xmas dregs including novelty rum and a bottle of mead. And some disgusting pink Gordon's gin.

No essentials like red wine or normal beers. I might have to brave Tesco tomorrow. Or tonight while it's quiet.

OP posts:
FlyFishingg · 17/03/2020 21:18

Might even treat us to a bottle of decent champagne, since it's the apocalypse and all.

OP posts:
Youngatheart00 · 17/03/2020 21:25

I don’t mind the pink gin! 😬

Can’t bring myself to stockpile booze, it just feels wrong....but maaaaaybe I’ll get a box of wine and kid myself I’m having a bbq

Teddypops · 17/03/2020 21:51

When my work goes quiet over the next couple of weeks I intend to get fit during the day and eat and drink all evening 🥴

Youngatheart00 · 17/03/2020 23:12

@Teddypops sounds like an entirely sensible strategy

HeronLanyon · 18/03/2020 04:53

My small glass of cold beer early afternoon can’t have led to thinking about another at 4.53 am can it ? Was it contagious ? I’m putting my fridge on lockdown - wfh needs to get into full swing today.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 18/03/2020 05:41

Ah shit. Wish I'd read this earlier. That bloody ridiculous expensive magnum if Bollinger I got as a gift is the perfect apocalypse accompaniment. It's in the office and we are on lock down. Might be worth the risk of a trip to town.

HeronLanyon · 18/03/2020 05:52

Ha ha - I was given a very special bottle of champ given as a present by an absolute mega A list celebrity to friend. Friend had basically saved one of their children’s lives (also now mega a list celebrity) during unexpected emergency situation in public.
We’ve always kept it (madly) as mega a list celebrity is adored by dp and me.
We both agreed just last night it’s going into general stocks and is now in fridge.
Crystal embellished box is now in recycling. (Kept thé signed tag).
