Bloody freezer is broken and no where has any in stock...

Argh

We keep a small under the counter freezer in the garage for dog food (dogs are fed raw and it needs to be kept in a freezer) just a small one which we saved from a kitchen re fit a few years ago.

I’ve spent 45 mins trying to find a new one, can I? Nope - apparently panic buying has also led to this according to the lovely chap I spoke to at an independent store...he’s never been so busy...

Earliest I can get anything delivered in is 27 days...in the meantime the £100’s worth of dog food I’ve got will go to waste.

I’m so annoyed!!

Next step is to ring some shops to see if they do freezer repairs!!!

Facebook marketplace? By a second hand one temporarily?

Charity shops that do furniture sometimes have them. Put a request out locally for a second hand one.

People have been panic buying freezers?

Can it be repaired - what would usually be considered easier or cheaper to replace with a new one, maybe worth getting repaired under the circumstances ?

Oh bugger! Any local friends able to store food whilst you get it sorted? If you’re in Glos we have four dog freezers.

Freecycle ? We bought a new small freezer a few weeks ago as our fridge freezer wasn’t working , and a friend had given us a fridge.
So ours went to the tip, although the freezer part of it was working fine. If you ask on freecycle you might get lucky with something similar.
See if any friends can store a bit of your stuff in the interim.

We got a freezer delivered within 2 days of ordering from Appliances Direct a few days ago - chest freezers were all out of stock (even if not showing as such on the website) but we got a Beko under counter style one which is suitable for use in outbuildings. Worth a look? Hope you get something sorted

I understand the stress of keeping raw pet food frozen, as our cats are fed raw too. I second the idea of asking locally if people have spare freezer space.
