Do you ever feel like your life is being watched and controlled by other people? Events happening in your life which seem odd that make you think they aren’t real?
Has anything ever made you think you are just part of some tv programme?

Not that exactly, but when I was a young child I was convinced that my mum and dad weren't my real parents and that I was living/seeing myself in some kind of construct, when my body was really somewhere else. Once I was so convinced I said to my mum 'you aren't my really mummy are you?". And she said 'no' and carried on putting on her makeup. I was freaked out Grin.

Just for clarity, she is my real mum.

So I kind of know what you mean, OP, though it's not quite the same.

Youaretheappleofmyeye · 17/03/2020 09:20

Aww your poor Mum, she probably thought you were slightly bonkers!
I just get freaked out sometime when I talk about someone I haven’t seen for a while and then they pop up in my life, i think have they been planted there?!

everything certainly feels fucking surreal at the moment.

Youaretheappleofmyeye · 17/03/2020 09:36

That’s what I mean takemedown! We are isolated so have to much time on our hands to think!

When I worked at a local primary school, my walk to work was very Trumanesque- I saw the same people at the same points of the walk every day. The comparison used to make me smile.

Fortyquinn · 17/03/2020 09:53

There a massive feeling at the moment of everything being surreal. I keep thinking maybe all this isn't happening, maybe it's some kind of matrix vibe, or a bad dream I'm going to wake up from.

Don't want to worry you further or stress you out, but this can be a full blown mental illness:

Oh my god I thought it was just me. I think this all the time.

Wanderlust21 · 17/03/2020 10:03

Sometimes something unbelievable happens and I'm like 'do you see that, up there? Shocking right!'. So yeah lol.

Youaretheappleofmyeye · 17/03/2020 11:21

@Wallowinginfilth, I don’t really think that don’t worry. It’s just a bit lighthearted x

Yes! I tell DC that season 1 about Brexit was so successful they commissioned a second season about the Coronavirus. These are fascinating times for social scientists.

Heatherjayne1972 · 17/03/2020 12:46

I feel like we’re living in the wrong timeline
Since trump got elected then boris brexit and now Coronavirus
Just feels like somewhere we entered a parallel universe

I watch Too much doctor who. I suspect

TartanTexan · 17/03/2020 13:03

I expect they felt like that re: WW1 then Spanish flu, then WW2...

Wallowinginfilth · 17/03/2020 13:28

Heatherjayne1972 oh I definitely agree with this.
