Anyone done their divorce themselves? Advise please!

Hi, has anyone done their own divorce with no Solicitors and if so, how easy was it? Mines possibly straightforward, no mutual kids (just mine), no splitting of assets except the house which is up for sale, no financial stuff like pensions etc. Trying to save cash for my pending house purchase so if I can save on divorce solicitors it would help!

Yeah we did it.
Printed the forms off the .gov site, sent them in with the money and just waited until we got some more forms to send back. Was really easy for us as there were no children or property to sort. Took around 4 months in total.

4 months that's amazing! Thought it was supposed to take much longer than that! Can I ask, did you have grounds or did you wait 2 years separation? Do you know if it makes any difference to how long it takes?

Fyi you cant do the financials online just the basic divorce

I did it part way then let a solicitor do the rest as I found it stressful, cost £175 at the time for a solicitor to do the whole thing on www.wikidivorce.com
There's a forum there too for anyone going down the DIY route. The whole site is part government funded and very helpful.

Did it online after 2 yrs separation when the financials were all sorted. Straightforward enough, and through pretty quickly, can't remember exactly how long.
