Hardly anything left for us to buy. Anyone else unable to bulk buy a bit worried about having to self isolate with a disabled child and nobidy to help and no food.

No toilet rolls anywhere here ffs

Are you on Facebook?

Communities are setting up local FB help pages for the covid crisis. Loads of people putting up offers of support- collecting shopping/prescriptions etc. Businesses putting up what stock they have etc. People are also asking for help too e.g: “does anyone know where I can get nappies” and others are providing info and offers to donate etc.

Juan I have seen those just now, thank you. Hope I don't need help but hope someone can help of needed. ❤️

It is actually ridiculous. I saw plenty of loo roll in cheaper stores earlier such as home bargains and Poundland, they were actually advertising it in the shop window Grin. Not the best quality I’m sure but better than nothing.

The shops haven’t handled this too well at all, they should have implemented restrictions much sooner.

cerealnamechange · 16/03/2020 14:27

Have you tried smaller stores? I have found that supermarkets have sold out of a lot of things but they can still be found in b&m, Wilkinson's, Iceland and the local Asian greengrocer even had loads of toilet rolls left the other day.

WrongKindOfFace · 16/03/2020 15:13

Yes, I’ve also found the smaller stores have more stock. Plus the likes of home bargains and savers are often cheaper.

The Nicky brand loo roll they often sell is ok. Not quite Andrex but perfectly useable. Asian supermarkets are cheap for big bags of rice, lentils etc.

poshredrose · 16/03/2020 15:17

I found everything I couldn't get in asda or aldi in our small local co op. Plenty loo rolls, soap etc

Sn0tnose · 16/03/2020 18:55

Where are you shopping? Out of town supermarkets are struggling to get stock on the shelves, but the super savers, pound stores, B&M, Home Bargains, Wilkos and independent shops in the town centre have full shelves and not very many customers. And they’re often cheaper.

Redshoeblueshoe · 16/03/2020 19:05

Aldi have now stopped people buying more than 4x of anything.
Home bargains have daily deliveries of toilet rolls. I got some from Herons. I didn't even know they sold it

We can't afford to buy loads of everything, we struggle to get by as it is. Fortunately our local Tesco express and co op seem well stocked still. Hopefully we can do our usual shop on Friday as dh gets paid, at least we will have some stuff in. We also have a young child. I'm worried about not being able to afford to buy enough to get by. Have no family we can ask for help either
