I'm addicted to this game. However, my results are shameful.

154, quite pleased with myself for a first go. I don't think I'd be able to type them all in the time anyway, even if I could think of them all.
Fun quiz though.

Seventyone72seventy3 · 16/03/2020 13:59

Why would I do that?
Geekiness aside. We started learning all the countries of the world a few months ago and have been doing quizzes on and off ever since. I have been surprised how much it actually increases my understanding of the news and my confidence when I interact with people. I met someone from Liberia the other day. In the past I would have been "ok, somewhere in Africa but not actualy idea where". Now I can point it out. This person had gone across part of the Sahara to Libya and ended up in Italy. I could picture his journey. Picturing the trajectory really helped*.

*Yes, I know there are probably a lot of people thinking "only an idiot would have no idea where Liberia was in the first place" and I can only agree but I am trying to make up for lost time!

AnotherMurkyDay · 16/03/2020 14:00

66 but on review it was my spelling not my memory/knowledge that let me down

thecatneuterer · 16/03/2020 14:03

I can get all of South America, but I'm shit at the rest and as for Africa, well it's shameful how bad I am.

Shosha1 · 16/03/2020 14:19

Could get most of Europe, not all of the former Eastern Bloc tho.
All of Asia, plus Australia and New Zealand, but none of the smaller Islands.
Good deal of North and South America, but was very bad at Africa.

BeyondMyWits · 16/03/2020 14:22

Nope, but currently have access to google.

sonjadog · 16/03/2020 14:31
  1. I would have got about 5-6 more, but I couldn't spell them!
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 16/03/2020 14:37

When I first came across a quiz like this about 12 years ago, I was frankly amazed to discover the existence of some countries in Africa which I never reminder hearing of before - Comoros, Gabon, Djibouti all come to mind.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 16/03/2020 14:37

*Remembered.

BearSoFair · 16/03/2020 15:08
  1. Actually a lot more than I expected to know but it's shown me that I really need to brush up on my knowledge of Africa, I struggled to get to 20 there.

This is my favourite on Sporcle. Harder than you might think but once you've slotted in some of hte bigger ones, the smaller ones fall more easily into place. Still very shaky on the Pacific Islands, central Africal and central America

feelinguseless101 · 16/03/2020 15:27

No. I'm going to try though!

Ludways · 16/03/2020 15:31

Yes and point to them on a map too, I can do this with all 50 states too.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 16/03/2020 16:19

I got 138. Pleased with that.

TakeMeToYourLiar · 16/03/2020 16:40

124, not too bad but some massive gaps

vingt · 16/03/2020 16:40
fussychica · 16/03/2020 16:42

DS can and knows all the capital cities. Me, not so muchGrin

Obviouspretzel · 17/03/2020 17:45

105, wasted about three minutes with a household distraction so could have got a few more. Harder than I imagined.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 17/03/2020 17:57

I like those too, @PineappleDanish! These are good too: www.sporcle.com/playlists/markassonne/hidden-neighbors-of-african-countries There's a playlist for every continent. Also lots of quizzes like this from this quizmaker: www.sporcle.com/games/goc3/erase-the-world-few-borders, varying degrees of hardness.

Percypopper · 17/03/2020 18:18

148 first time but it certainly won’t be the last!! Kicking myself that I forgot some of them

zwellers · 17/03/2020 18:25

Nauru and Kyrgyzstan have tripped me up!

myidentitymycrisis · 17/03/2020 18:26

no chance

Muddlingalongalone · 17/03/2020 21:36

I got 111 - shockingly bad knowledge of Africs & only got Central America because of Race across the World prog from Sunday night. Good fun.

mamaduckbone · 17/03/2020 23:01

110 but I was obsessed with Sporcle for a while - I got up to 140 ish at one stage.
I could do all of S America and all of Europe for a while and got to about 48 on US states. It's very addictive and feels more worthy than other mindless games on my phone.
