My ds currently has cmht outpatient care. We’ve recently moved to another area still within the same ccg. At his last psychiatrist appointment he was told we aren’t transferring you care as you don’t want us to. They know he was registered with a gp in the new area at the time of making this statement. He went to his appointment on Monday and they have now told him they will be transferring it and he as no choice in the matter or he will simply be discharged. I’ve looked this up and it’s seems it should be patient choice but unfortunately this only seems to apply for the first referral which is the loophole they appear to be using. They are saying they can’t have out of area cases but from what I have been reading if he was new referral they would have to accept him as it’s his right to choose. Ds is in this town regularly and it’s a not easier for him to attend appointments there and also easier for me to monitor him going. This other place is over an hours walk from our house. Is there anything we can do?
