How did you know what job you were just 'meant' to do?

I'm currently back in college and studying part time for a course I never thought I'd be doing or that would suit me! And couldn't be further away from the degree I completed 10 years ago.

I've worked in retail for the time in between which pays the bills but I'm not great at my role and get no job satisfaction. For a while I thought I'd never have the confidence to do anything else.

So did you know straight from school and get stuck into it? Or have you changed careers further down the line? Smile

No joke a Tinder date told me I’d be a great fit for his (enormous, global) organisation! He also got a call in the middle of the date during which he accepted a job in Argentina so the date was clearly going nowhere.

I was 2 years out of uni and jumping between dead end jobs with no hope of a career. I was feeling lost and really struggling with life. I did my research, concluded he was right, went off and did a year of relevant work experience and then blagged my way into a temp role.

That was 4 years ago and he was so right it was so unreal. I eventually got a permanent role, then a promotion, the job stability has allowed me to but a house, fulfil some of my travel dreams and met my fiance here. The personal growth makes me feel as if I have found my place in the world.

It is an industry that I was adamant wasn’t right for me during uni...

@user1471548941 that's a great inspiring story! Well done on your hard work and the success Grin

Hoping this will be me 2-3 years down the line...
