He's 16. He works p/t on the floor of a very busy inner city pub.

His throat started last night, he's slept a lot. I'm not sure what to do.

It's probably just a cold - statistically speaking it's still extremely unlikely he'd catch coronavirus (assume that's your main concern). Is he otherwise healthy etc?

Wheresmycider · 10/03/2020 20:31

Just treat as you would any other sore throat/cold. Rest, fluids, paracetamol.
On the small chance he has caught coronavirus, if he is otherwise fit an healthy he should be over it soon enough.

Any signs of illness is bound to make you feel twitchy right now. I’m fairly sure that a sore throat isn’t a typical symptom of coronavirus (if that is what you are concerned about). All you can do is pain relief and rest. Hope he feels better soon.

Sore throat is not a symptom of Coronavirus is it? I thought fever, dry cough and aching limbs were the signs of concern? Your son has a cold.. paracetamol and plenty of rest and fluid will see him right soon enough.

My son currently has raging tonsillitis. Sore throat and a temp is nothing to worry about at the moment.

Covid 19 doesn't generally cause sore throats. Main symptoms are fever, fatigue and shortness of breath. Chill out.

adaline · 10/03/2020 20:36

I didn't think a sore throat was as symptom?

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 10/03/2020 20:39

Sore throat is not a symptom that’s why.

Dry cough is I think.

madeyemoodysmum · 10/03/2020 21:21

There is a throat thing going round currently. My dd has been ill for a week now.

I would only worry if it turns into a cough Hope he is well soon
