Facebook selling - how long do you give people to reply

Hi,

I'm giving away some pallets.

Someone asked if they are available, I said yes and they've read the message but they haven't replied.

How long do you wait until you offer them to the next person. I'm getting lots of messages

Thank you

I wouldn't wait at all. If they really wanted the item, they'd have replied. Don't wait around for time wasters.

OhLook · 07/03/2020 11:12

Straight away in those circumstances. They haven't actually said they want them.

WinterCat · 07/03/2020 11:13

I agree, I’d offer to the next person.

tectonicplates · 07/03/2020 11:14

In my experience, the "Is this still available?" people never buy anything. The people who actually want stuff will discuss times and dates with you straight away.

Ninkanink · 07/03/2020 11:26

Never give anything away on fb. You will get loads of entitled idiots wasting your time.

Sell them for £2-5.

And all advice above, too.

OhLook · 07/03/2020 11:33

If I'm giving stuff away I just put it outside and give a vague location on Facebook and say 'no holding, help yourself'.

tectonicplates · 07/03/2020 11:33

Yep, or if you have a front garden/outside space then just leave them outside and someone will take them!

TheReluctantCountess · 07/03/2020 11:34

I wouldn’t wait if all they put was the standard ‘is this available’ message.
