Lost my temper and feel awful

I have two dc, one is 4 and the other 2 nearly 3, the two year old does not listen to me, I say no and he just carries on regardless, I know this is normal and he's a lovely boy but if he wants to do something he will just do it. We were in a rush this morning and he picked up a box of playmobil and started emptying it out on to the floor, I said no please don't do that and he just carried on, I got up and took the box and threw it. I feel so ashamed. I said sorry to them both immediately. I'm pre menstrual and tired and I feel so ashamed of losing control like that.

Don't know what I'm looking for really but I almost feel better just for writing it down. I can't believe I did what I tell them NOT to do all the time. Sad

You did it, you know it was wrong, move on. Don’t beat yourself up about it. Small children are tricky.

I threw a box of eggs at the wall once. ! Seriously small children test anyone’s patience. We have all been there.

Don’t fret. Not ideal but I have certainly done similar. You apologised. Two year olds test patience like nothing else.

Not ideal but you're only human. You said sorry and it's done now. Don't catastrophise this and beat yourself up, do something nice with them later and forget about it - they will too! Thanks

Thanks so much everyone, already starting to shake the awful feeling off.
