Just eaten chocolate with mould on it. Am I going to die?

I didn't look at my chocolate bar until I had had a couple of squares, and then I found it was mouldy.

Just to be clear, this is not the white 'bloom' that chocolate gets on it, but actual green and white mould, both spotty and like a spider's web.

Can't find much online. Tell me straight, O Mumsnet: am I going to get ill? Because that would be very bad right now.

Prophylactic gin definitely on my list of remedies.GrinGrin

I do have a sensitive stomach. Sad

It was from a vending machine, so I'm going to complain to the hotel and get my quid (I know!) back.

I have planned a Coronavirus self-isolation reading list but I can't read and throw up at the same time.

Are you OK OP?

LadyPeterWimsey · 04/03/2020 23:37

Thank you for asking. I am still here, and have not keeled over yet. Hoping to make it to morning...

I made sure I had a large gin to protect me.Grin

Yes.

🤪🤣🤣

Lordfrontpaw · 05/03/2020 08:00

Shall we start knitting a blanket then? Alas poor LadyPeter, it was the mouldy chocolate what done her in...

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 05/03/2020 08:57

Who in their right mind lets chocolate go mouldy? This way bad things lie as no one ever has done it and no one has immunity to it.

It’s all fine n you, OP.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 05/03/2020 08:57

Not fine!

On you!

LadyPeterWimsey · 05/03/2020 18:25

'Twas not I who let the chocolate go mouldy. It was the hotel vending machine that did it, m'lud. Chocolate in our house barely gets a chance to catch its breath in the treat drawer before it vanished into our hungry gobs.

So I did not die! Thank you for the offer of a blanket though. Should I perish of boredom during tonight's school concert, my nearest and dearest would be touched to receive one.

Could be an infested bug nestling away in your colon or bowel. I’d give it a day or so...

Lordfrontpaw · 05/03/2020 18:29

Ingested not infested. God this autocorrect is a prick beautiful thing
