38 weeks and so every twinge, twitch or pain I’m getting wondering “is this it!!”. (answer is no so far)

What were your first symptoms of labour, did you feel anything in the week before and if so, what was it?

First time waters broke big time. No hint of anything before that I was only 31 weeks.

Second time mucus plug came away at 6am then mild period cramps which slowly got more intense until about 4pm then proper labour began. She was born at 7pm

Hope things go well for you.

Yep period pains for about the last week is what I’d describe but nothing else... yet!

Very tired, SPD got worse, felt like period pains.
In the middle of the night both times it dawned on me that the pains were happening every ten minutes or so. Tried to sleep in between them for the rest of the night.

I made a damn good attempt at trying to sleep through all of labour, but didn't work. Friend of a friend gave birth in a coma, so I tried to use that as a role model.

Very dramatic noticeable waters breaking with a pop. The second time I was asleep and it was such a strong sensation it woke me up.

Bump dropped down very low. Both times I had a popping sensation and then waters went... It was unmistakable!! But no pain straight away, just a very gradual build up. Good luck, everyone's different. Those slight cramps could be the start...

DropYourSword · 04/03/2020 11:00

Contraction. Unmistakably a contraction. It woke me up and I immediately knew, shit, this is it!
No tightenings, no warning signs. Just straight into painful labour from the get go!
