Can anyone tell me what this cupboard is for?

I’ve never tried attaching a photo before so not sure if it will work!

Anyway, I have a very narrow pull out kitchen unit (see photo) and I can’t work out what the top ‘shelf’ is for? Am I meant to hang things from it? Tea towels maybe? The height seems too low and would mean I couldn’t put much on the bottom shelf. I try and just balance things on it but they’re always falling out. Can anyone tell me what it’s actual intended use is?

Jars of spices?

Damntheman · 03/03/2020 09:55

Spices indeed! it's a spice rack. The bottom shelf is for things like bottles of oil.

Yup spice rack. We have one too

The top bit's not magnetic is it? If you have spices in metal tins, they would stick to it and not fall off.

Just looked at mine, which is the same. The rails are obviously for towels/tea towels, but the top "shelf" is part of the sliding mechanism, not a shelf. In the bottom shelf I keep dishwasher tabs and rinse aid.

I feel like I’m being really silly, but how door arrange spices on it! Mine just fall over or fall out! Are they meant to be lying down or standing up?! If anyone has something similar could you post a pic and show me please!

Tins, bottles, herbs?

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 03/03/2020 12:47

I’ve got one of these cupboards.

Not spices, they fall out... bottles of sauce is in ours

Top one is for a tea towel.

Bottom one we use for tins or ketchup bottles etc.

We've also got one that we keep trays in.
