Have been meaning to sort the travel insurance for weeks but havent gotten round to it.

Will Coronavirus bugger it all up?

It's far too early to know what will be happening in August.

You should have booked the insurance at the same time as your holiday. Coronavirus will probably be specifically excluded now. It’s a bit like finding out you need heart surgery and then belatedly taking out travel insurance in case you need to cancel because you need heart surgery during those dates. 🤦‍♀️ This is now a known risk.

Mmm you might be fine by August. The maiden voyage of a Virgin liner has just been called to port before its destination and the passengers are having to get home from there despite no one on board being ill

@boatyardblues - super-helpful. Thank you! Flowers

If it makes you feel better scotty, we fly at the end of June on a Neilson holiday - it's costing double what we would normally spend on a summer holiday and is a treat for the end of DS's GCSE's.
Travel insurance not yet booked because I am a dick either Hmm

Book travel insurance now. Like this morning not when you have time to spare, just go to one of the price comparison sites and get it done.
At the moment there is no restriction on travel to any of the canaries but who knows what will happen later when the results of yesterday's cobra meeting are revealed

Starisnotanumber · 03/03/2020 12:41

Fortunately for travellers the cobra meeting has not given any no travel restrictions to mostly unaffected places, most countries appear to have a low number of cases many less than in UK
Still book insurance as soon as possible in case situation changes
